Hands with Words

Hands with Words The Hands With Words ministry was founded in 2006 (as Talking Hands) by close friends Lisa and Lynn.

The ministry was formed to provide support and create awareness for the Deaf through various projects and initiatives. The main project we are currently working on is the South African Sign Language Bible Translation Project. This is a massive undertaking, but we know that we are where God wants us, and we are committed to Him, the Deaf and seeing this project through. To find out how you can help

Our Vision
Hands With Words envisions a future where its mission is carried through the hands and hearts of many Christian leaders, both Deaf and hearing, who are spread throughout South Africa and our neighbouring African countries.

The Sign Language Bible Translation Training Camp was held at Rocklands Centre, Cape Town from 18th to 24th March 2024. Our Partners and 9 neighboring countries joined us. Some people from other provinces in South Africa also joined us. We have all benefited from this wonderful fellowship together. To God be the Glory!

September, Deaf Awareness Month (and a short time after South African Sign Language (SASL) became our 12th Official Language of South Africa), was the perfect time for us to celebrate and praise God together! Here are some photos that capture scenes of the SASL Thanksgiving Service which many enjoyed together this past Sunday. ❤️🤟🇿🇦
