We are joining the New Africa Fund Challenge โ and ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฏ๐ฒ ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ ๐ท๐ผ๐๐ฟ๐ป๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ผ ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ด๐ฒ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ-๐ฏ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ (GBV).
Our goal: R80 000+ (USD 5,000+) to strengthen the Faith Leaders Gender Transformation Programme (FLGTP).
Why it matters: GBV has been declared a National Disaster in South Africa. As 85% of South Africaโs population identifies as religious, ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ฎ๐ถ๐๐ต ๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ผ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ต๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ ๐ต๐๐ด๐ฒ ๐ฟ๐ผ๐น๐ฒ ๐๐ผ ๐ฝ๐น๐ฎ๐. Preventing GBV and building harmony begins with equipped faith leadership. Through the FLGTP, we equip faith leaders to challenge harmful norms, model equitable leadership, and actively prevent GBV in their communities.
