World Hepatitis Day

"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers." — 3 John 1:2

Dear church family and friends, today we join the global community in observing World Hepatitis Day. As believers, we are called to care for our spiritual well-being, but we must also stewardship the physical bodies God has given us.

Viral hepatitis affects millions of families worldwide, often in silence. Today, I encourage each of you to prioritize your health and the health of your loved ones. Take time to learn about prevention, seek screening, and support those who are dealing with illness with love and compassion.

Let us lift up our prayers for global health workers, and let us take proactive steps to care for our temples. Your health matters, and you are deeply valued.

Blessings,

WorldHepatitisDay

Healing and Accountability: A Reflection on World Day for International Justice

Dear Community,
Today, 17 July, the world observes the World Day for International Justice. While this day often highlights international laws and global treaties, its core message strikes a deeply personal and spiritual chord for those of us in care ministry.

In chaplaincy, we understand that justice and healing go hand in hand. To deny someone dignity, equal care, or a voice is a wound to the spirit. True justice begins at the bedside and in the community—it is found in the way we protect the vulnerable, advocate for the overlooked, and offer comfort without judgment.

Legal systems seek to right wrongs on a global scale, but spiritual care seeks to restore the wholeness of the individual. When we actively listen to someone's pain, validate their experience, and treat them with profound respect, we are practicing a form of everyday justice.

As we mark this day, let us commit to being instruments of both justice and peace in our homes, workplaces, and neighborhoods.

Let us look out for one another, bridging divides with empathy and ensuring that no one in our care feels forgotten.“True peace is not merely the absence of tension: it is the presence of justice.” — Martin Luther King Jr.Blessings,

Yours,
Medical & Spiritual Care Chaplain

Healing in Community: Reflecting on the International Day of Cooperatives

✨Today is the UN International Day of Cooperatives ( )—a day that celebrates the power of people joining together to build sustainable, people-centered communities.

As a Medical and Spiritual Care Chaplain, I see every day that human health and spiritual thriving are never meant to be solitary journeys. Medically and psychologically, isolation breeds illness, whereas community connection lowers stress, speeds up physical recovery, and fosters deep emotional resilience. When people cooperate—sharing their resources, burdens, and strengths—they create a social safety net that protects the most vulnerable among us.Cooperation is not just an economic model; it is a profound spiritual truth. We are designed to need one another. When we work together, we mirror the very heart of the Creator, who designed us to live in interconnected harmony.

Scripture beautifully captures the medical and spiritual strength found in cooperation:
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up." (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10)No single person can carry the weight of life's hardships alone. When the physical body is weary or the spirit is crushed, it is the cooperative community that steps in to lift us up, share the load, and offer care.

Today, let us look for ways to strengthen the circles of cooperation in our neighborhoods, clinics, and faith spaces. Let us remember that true health is communal, and by looking out for one another, we bring God's healing to the world.

A Prayer for Collaborative Community:

God of Unity, You created us to walk this life together. Thank You for the strength, protection, and joy found in community cooperation. Help us to dismantle the walls of isolation and individualism. Teach us to share our burdens, to lift up those who are falling, and to build communities where everyone’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are met with love. Amen.

Standing Together in Safety and Peace — A Message from Your Chaplain

Dear Residents,
As your community chaplain, I am reaching out to you ahead of the anticipated nationwide tensions and protests scheduled for Tuesday, 30 June. Living closely together in a residential community gives us a unique strength: the ability to shield, support, and look out for one another when external anxieties rise.

While law enforcement and local security structures are on high alert to keep our suburbs safe, we can do our part by remaining calm, vigilant, and connected.

I encourage every household to observe the following practical steps over the coming days:

Enhance Home Security:
Ensure your alarm systems, outdoor lighting, and boundary locks are fully operational. Keep emergency panic buttons close at hand.

Verify Local Intrep:
Trust updates only from our official neighborhood watch, CPF (Community Policing Forum), or verified news outlets. Do not forward unverified warnings that cause unnecessary panic.

Practice Neighborly Care:
Please check in on those around you. Small gestures—like checking on an elderly neighbor or offering reassurance to foreign national families who may feel vulnerable—make a massive difference.

Keep Roads Clear:
Plan your grocery shopping and essential trips ahead of Tuesday to minimize time spent on major transit routes or near commercial hubs.

Times of unrest test the fabric of a community, but they also give us a chance to show our best qualities—unity, kindness, and resilience.

Please remember that I am here for you. If the stress of the current climate is taking a toll on your mental or emotional well-being, or if your family needs pastoral support, my door is open.Wishing you all a safe and peaceful week ahead.Warm regards,

Bishop N. Mzila
