Can you remember the last time kids were just kids?
That’s what we offer.
An opportunity to step back in time, to remember the joys of childhood games, to play and laugh and connect with the people right in front of them.

Over the past year, we have developed a Carnival Game and Mini Market experience.
It’s perfect for schools, allowing students to step away from screens and textbooks, and step into a slower, more tangible time.
It’s a full experience, with everything set up!
From the tokens, to the games, the craft stalls to snacks and prizes!

Thank you to Kingsmead for inviting us, and for being such good sports!

A VERY quick sneak peek!
The hub was a flurry of last minute prep as we got ready for an exciting day of inclusivity in action 😎
Our wonderful friends at Kingsmead College are once again making space for us to perform, entertain, teach and add value.

The day promises to be filled with fun, keep your eyes peeled - we’ll be showing you more soon!

It’s OUR turn to give back!

The San Salvador Home is a big part of who we are and what we do.
Whilst we have been growing our income over the past few years, we are still partially reliant on them for our funding.
So we wanted to show our appreciation by spoiling the residents with a Carnival Day!

A clown on stilts, human wack-a-mole, giant bubbles, live photo booth and so many more games, we got to bring some fun and cheer to the ladies!

We are also so grateful to The Capital Empire for joining us and supplying delicious soup and rolls for lunch!

We firmly believe that charity should start at home. We are privileged to often be on the receiving end of the kindness and generosity of others, so it felt great to be able to return the favour!

What began as a single dance has grown into a Community Choir - with a full performance of interactive songs, dancing and signing!
And we are DELIGHTED that our journey is taking us to our first public performance at The Franklin Players Playground Festival!

Having fun is more important than you think!

Social connection and engaging, cognitive activities can lower stress and loneliness, increase dopamine, and improve your overall mental health!

That’s what our Tara visits are all about.

Our Intertainment team provides various inclusive activities - from carnival games, to bingo to fun quizzes, which are all about letting loose, building connection with new people, and mostly, having a good time 😉

Over the past few months we have been focused on taking our joy to those around us.

We can’t be silent in the face of fear and exclusion!

We spend a lot of time talking about inclusivity within our own community- about the importance of kindness, acceptance and the power of love, and what this looks like in action.
These are values that we hold ourselves too, they’re at the centre of who we are and how we live our lives.
So when we see fear, distrust, anger and injustice in the community around us, we can’t be silent.
We know what it is like to be on the receiving end of exclusion, so it’s only right that we stand up for others when we see it happening around us!

So we took our message of love and joy to the streets of Hyde Park!
We shared handwritten notes of love, encouragement, and kindness. We reminded people that they have something unique and beautiful to share with the world and encouraged them to share the love!

(We even handed out some Father’s Day cards to so that sons and daughters can celebrate the important role their fathers place in their lives! - Thank you to upcycle.co.za for donating these to us, it was our joy to be able to pay it forward!)

We know there is a lot of fear and distrust in our country right now, but we want to encourage you to share the message of love and to stand up to fear!
Together we can make a difference!

This is more than just activities.
This is a successful partnership in action😎

Over the past few months, we have been lucky enough to be on the receiving end of community service hours from Carrie - a third year Wits student who is currently studying to become a social worker.
Every week, our Hub members are empowered, educated and entertained by her well-crafted and carefully considered activities through her Learn, Move, Connect Program.

This in turn, allows Carrie the opportunity to put her theory into practice, and to learn from our community, preparing and equipping her with real-life experience before she enters the working world.

Carrie has carried herself with dignity and compassion, she is committed, patient and kind.
We are grateful to be able to provide space for students like her, to learn and grow, and to be a stepping stone for their futures in disability care.
