⚽⛳ Strengthening the Future of FootGolf Refereeing
As part of its continued commitment to developing high-level officiating, FIFG has been conducting an extensive referee education program aimed at preparing the next generation of FootGolf referees.
A total of 68 participants have joined the course so far, demonstrating strong global interest in advancing refereeing standards within the sport. The program is designed as a structured learning pathway combining theory, practical preparation, and continuous assessment.
Participants have already completed three intensive modules, supported by preparation work and homework assignments between sessions. The program will soon continue with two final elective lessons, allowing referees to further deepen their understanding of key aspects of FootGolf officiating.
In addition, each participant will complete a seminar project as part of the course requirements. The program will conclude with a comprehensive online test, followed by individual interviews forming the final assessment of the candidates.
Based on the results, the top-performing referees will be invited to advance to the second phase of the program, which will serve as the preparation pathway for the FIFG FootGolf World Cup Acapulco 2026.
This advanced phase will include five additional specialized modules, focusing on:
• On-field decision making
• Match management and positioning
• Conflict resolution and communication on the course
The goal is to ensure that the sport is supported by highly trained and professional referees capable of delivering the highest standards of officiating during the World Cup, alongside the referees already assigned to the event.
An additional referees course will also be organized after the World Cup, aligned with the next development phase of the FIFG refereeing program.
A Through initiatives like this, FIFG continues to invest in the education, and long-term development of FootGolf worldwide.
