Progressive Business Forum Business group Progressive Business Forum (PBF) formed in 2006 to create ongoing dialogue The PBF is the locus of the social compact with Business.

The PBF is a programme of the ANC, mandated to promote and enhance liaison between Government, the ANC and Business. It functions under the auspices of the Office of the ANC Treasurer General. In the words of President Ramaphosa in his State of the Nation Address on 13 February 2020: “Let us frankly admit that the government cannot solve our economic challenges alone”. The PBF is gearing to be the

facilitator of best practice communication and to ensure that the voice of business is heard and understood at the highest levels. The compact between Government and Business is a powerful and significant one. Business, with its unparalleled ability to generate jobs, opportunities and income, partnering and in dialogue with the solid and sound economic policies of Government, present an opportunity for PBF subscribers to engage the economy on an upward path of inclusive growth.

Speaker Profile: Reyna Singh is a Professional Chemical Engineer and business leader with more than a decade of experience spanning the energy, mining, manufacturing, cement and sustainability sectors. She currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of SPR Vanchem (Pty) Ltd, where she leads the strategic, operational and financial turnaround of the South African vanadium processing operation, with a focus on production sustainability, operational efficiency, cost competitiveness and long-term industrial resilience.
Her career has been shaped by a strong focus on energy efficiency, process optimisation and the transition towards more sustainable industrial operations. Host Profile:

Dr Gwen Malegwale Ramokopa is elected the Treasurer-General of the African National Congress (ANC) in December 2022. She was formerly the Deputy Minister of Health in the Presidency from October 2010 to May 2014. With an MBChB medical degree and a Master’s in Public Health at the predecessor of Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University (SMU). The Alumni at SMU has recently honored her with a Lifetime Achievers Award together with others. She has served in various capacities, from a Medical Officer at Dr George Mukhari Hospital to the National Health Program Manager at the Independent Development Trust during South Africa’s transition to democracy. Her dedication to healthcare extends to her role as an associate of the World Health Organization (WHO) collaborating Centre on Social Determinants of Health and Health in all Policies at the University of Pretoria.
She is also the Group Chairperson of the Progressive Business Forum (PBF).

Speaker Profile: Dr Kgosientsho “Sputla” Ramokgopa is a serving as the Minister of Electricity and Energy since July 2024. He previously held roles as the Minister of Electricity in the Presidency and Executive Mayor of Tshwane.
Prior to his appointment as Minister, he was Head of the Investment and Infrastructure office in the office of the President of the Republic of South Africa and the Head of Infrastructure South Africa. Dr Ramokgopa is also an appointed Professor of Practice of the University of Johannesburg in the School of Public Management, Governance and Public Policy.
