Before a child can change their future, they must first be able to imagine it.

That’s what a book does.

For many of our learners, a book is the first place where they see possibility. It’s where they learn new words, discover new worlds, and realise that they too can be the hero of their own story.

Reading is not a luxury. It is dignity. It is power. It is hope. 📚

🌸 Women don’t just create change today — they help shape the people who will change tomorrow.

This Women’s Month, we celebrate Koketso Mzinyane, whose creativity, passion and commitment to youth development continue to make a meaningful impact at Sakhimfundo.

Her work is a reminder that impact is not always measured by how big something is, but by the difference it makes in someone’s life. Whether it is creating an opportunity, encouraging a young person to try something new, helping them discover their potential, or simply making them feel seen and heard — every contribution matters.

At Sakhimfundo, we believe that education creates possibilities, creativity opens doors, and empowered young people have the power to shape the future.

Koketso’s journey reflects the power of women who use their skills, creativity and passion to uplift others. Through her work, she continues to contribute to a space where young people are encouraged to dream bigger, believe in themselves and recognise the possibilities within their own potential.

This Women’s Month, we celebrate not only the woman she is, but the impact she is creating in the lives of others. 🌸

THANK YOU, PLAY AFRICA – FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS! ❤️🎒🌟

We received a huge donation of stationery bags for ALL our Sakhimfundo learners – made possible by the incredible generosity of PLAY AFRICA.

Our children’s faces lit up the moment they received their bags. To hear them gasps, the laughter, and the endless, heartfelt “thank you, thank you, thank you” !

For many of our learners, this is more than just a stationery bag. It is dignity. It is confidence. It is being able to walk into class feeling ready, feeling equal and feeling seen. It is knowing that someone out there cares about their education and believes in their future.

To our learners, it means they matter.
To us as Sakhimfundo, it means we are not alone in this journey of Growing Through Education. It reminds us that when organisations like Play Africa stand with us, we can give our children so much more than lessons – we can give them hope.

From our learners, our tutors, our team, and every parent who will now worry a little less – thank you, Play Africa. Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, and for choosing to invest in the dreams of our children.

🌸 Women don’t just lead today — they shape the leaders of tomorrow.

This Women’s Month, we celebrate Seitebogeng , whose passion for youth empowerment and leadership development goes beyond simply inspiring young people — she helps create spaces where they can believe in themselves and see new possibilities for their future.
Through her dedication, she reminds us that leadership is not only about the position you hold, but about the impact you make and the people you empower along the way.

At Sakhimfundo, we believe that education builds the foundation, mentorship opens the way, and empowered young people have the power to shape tomorrow.

🌸 This Women’s Month, let’s celebrate women who lead with purpose, empower with intention, and make space for the next generation to rise.

🌸Women don’t just lead today — they shape the leaders of tomorrow.

This Women’s Month, we celebrate women like our Board Chair, Martine Schaefer, whose leadership goes beyond titles. She leads with purpose, compassion and courage — listening, mentoring, opening doors, and making space for the next generation to step forward.

Her message reminds us: leadership isn’t about the position you hold, but the impact you create and the people you empower along the way. Sometimes, all a young woman needs is someone who believes in her before she believes in herself. 🌸

At Sakhimfundo, we believe education is the foundation, mentorship is the bridge, and empowered young women are the future.
Because when a woman rises, she should never have to rise alone.

🌸 This Women’s Month, let’s not only celebrate women — let’s create space for more women to lead.

✏️📚 Every pencil writes a dream. Every notebook holds a future.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the University of Johannesburg's Development and Fundraising Office for their generous donation of stationery to our learners from Grade 1 to Grade 12. Your generosity has equipped our children with the tools they need to learn, achieve, and dream without limits.

This is more than a donation—it is an investment in education, opportunity, and brighter futures. Thank you for standing with Sakhimfundo Youth Program and for reminding our learners that their education matters.

Together, we are writing stories of hope, one page at a time. 💙
