In many rural areas throughout the country, our youth cannot see a better future. Their vision is obscured by a failing education system, corrupt teachers, gangs, drugs, exploitive blessors, unwanted pregnancies and dysfunctional families. They are held back and held down by poverty, family responsibility and a lack of access to technology, information, funding, role models, and most importantly, a lack of urban knowledge and know-how. They are excluded, ignored and blind to the possibilities of what life has to offer and their own limitless potential. The Rotondwa Eagles Foundation aims to open their eyes. By engaging rural high schools across the country and the continent, we will help our youth with career guidance, motivational talks, academic admission applications to various institutions of higher learning and applications for various financial sponsorships. And to ensure sustainable success, we will then mentor students through high school and university, helping them see and follow the path to better lives. Because we believe that it’s not just about getting our youth off the ground, it’s about helping them to fly and see the future ahead of them.
