This may look like just a fence, but to our rescue dogs, it means greater safety, more secure space to play, and another step towards giving them the care and protection they deserve.

☀️🐾 Our Dogs Need Shade Urgently!

As temperatures rise, our shelter dogs are feeling the heat. We urgently need shading net to create a cool, protected area where they can escape the sun, rest and recover comfortably.

We are reaching out to individual animal lovers and companies who can help us make this possible. 💙

Whether you can donate towards the cost of the shading net, sponsor the project in full, or a company can donate shading net or installation, your support will make a real difference.

🐶 Our dogs cannot ask for relief from the heat, so we need to do it for them.

Four dogs and 2 cats sterilized last week sponsored by Powered By Pawz - Doggy Day Care and Boarding Centre and their amazing clients.

"Powered by Pawz" is a wonderful doggy daycare just outside the Dainfern Estate, Fourway's, Johannesburg it's in a rural area and the dogs are "free range" and learn to socialise with many different dogs of all ages, breeds and temperaments.

🐾 WE NEED MORE PAVERS!🐾

Our dogs deserve safe, clean and comfortable spaces to live, play and recover. We are working hard to improve their environment at Glenda’s Dogs Rescue. ❤️

We urgently need more pavers to continue this important project.

This weeks delivery of food to the 40 dogs that we support who live with their owners in the township, these are good owners but are financially unable to feed their dogs any longer, some have lost their jobs, some were never able to find a job and others are old and survive on a pension, all don't want to surrender their dogs to the SPCA and an unknown fate because they love their dogs and are good owners, their dogs are part of their families, they are their friends and they emotionally are unable to surrender them.

We had no sponsor for this weeks delivery so we had to beg and borrow funds to buy 8 x 40kgs bag of food, total 320kgs, which we divided into 40 x 8kgs white garden refuse bags, total cost approximatey R7000 without the cost of delivery.
This really is a huge burden for us to carry and we do it twice a month, we sincerely need a "corporate" company to step up and help us, we can't continue to do this alone, please help us.

Meet Nomie

Nomie is a cute 3/4 year old girl who sadly doesn't stand much chance of being adopted, because of her unique appearance she is sadly always overlooked.

Nomie has one floppy ear, one white paw and a tail that was "docked" by whom we don't know but probably by boys in the township, what we do know is that she must have suffered considerably as it was either cut off with a knife without any anaesthetic, or an elastic band was tied around her tail which restricted the flow of blood and after several extremely painful weeks the end would have died and dropped off.

Nomie certainly didn't have a good start to her young life as we found her searching for food on a rubbish dump. Although Nomie may not be conventionally good looking what she lacks in looks she makes up for with incredible loyalty, love and appreciation, she is genuinely grateful for all she receives no matter how small, a simple tap on the head keeps her happy all day.

Nomie is kind and good with other dogs and humans of all ages, she likes to be involved with whatever other dogs and humans are doing and is best friends with them all.

Nomie has been sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped and is ready and waiting to find a home of her own. Sadly because of her unique "looks" she is the type of dog who could live her entire life at our shelter, she has never been noticed by any one and appears to be invisible, if you can welcome Nomie into your life please contact me she really deserves a second chance.

Nellie was sent to us to be sterilized and has never left, sadly her owner phoned to say that she didn't want her back.

Nellie has never got over the loss of her family and can't understand why nobody comes to fetch her, everyday she waits expectantly and as night closes in, she gets very sad and depressed.

Nellie is 2/3 years old and has been vaccinated, sterilized and microchipped, she is wonderful with other dogs and humans young and old, she desperately needs to belong and to find a new family, if you have room in your house for Nellie please give her a home and contact me:
