Glenda’s Dog Rescue

Glenda’s Dog Rescue Established in 2022, Glenda’s Dog Rescue is a non-profit organization located in Orange Farm (PBO no 930079007).

Our primary goal is to alleviate the suffering of animals that are lost, abandoned, neglected, abused, or ignored in the townships. We also aim to educate pet owners on proper animal care and ways to enhance their pets' living conditions. We facilitate the adoption of abandoned or unwanted animals and perform sterilization procedures on approximately 12 to 16 animals each month in collaboration wi

th Lets Spay # SA. Every dog leaving our shelter, whether sterilized or recovering from illness or injury, is vaccinated, dewormed, defleaed, and sent home with a sturdy wooden kennel, food bowl, and water bucket. Moreover, we distribute kennels to other dogs in the townships in need of shelter, having already delivered over 1800. On a monthly basis, we distribute 1200kgs of food to feed 50 dogs in the township, whose owners require assistance for various reasons, as well as the dogs in our shelter. Our shelter in the township has an on site, mobile and highly experienced individual who responds to calls for help from all township residents.

We have people in the township who inform us when they find stray dogs or when animals are abused or neglected, Ruby was found by one of these invaluable people, scavenging on a rubbish dump, she was in a terrible condition hardly able to walk and as she was in the final stages of Billary we really thought that she wouldn't make it but she did and today she is a healthy, happy 3/4 year old girl who is longing for a home of her own.

Ruby has been vaccinated, sterilized and microchipped and ready to find a kinder "world" than the one she knew earlier in her young life, a world where she can start her new life, Ruby is good with other dogs and loves humans young and old.

If you can give Ruby a chance, please call me Glenda 082 901 0763

🐾 WE NEED MORE PAVERS!🐾

Our dogs deserve safe, clean and comfortable spaces to live, play and recover. We are working hard to improve their environment at Glenda’s Dogs Rescue. ❤️

We urgently need more pavers to continue this important project.

If you are a paving company, experienced paving team, contractor, or someone who has pavers available to donate we would be incredibly grateful for your help. 🙏

Whether you can donate pavers, your expertise, your labor, or even assist us at a good price, every bit of help makes a difference.

🐶 Help us give our rescue dogs a safer, cleaner place to call home.

Troy is a handsome 3-4-year-old boy who started his life in the township, although he was loved dearly by his owner there were no fences or walls around his property which led to a tragic accident when Troy was sadly run over by a car that broke his right front leg, we were called to help and rushed him to our vet. After an operation and many months of rest in his cage as well as the dedicated care from Dr. Lewis and his team at Walkerville Veterinary Clinic, Troy made a remarkable recovery and today is a healthy young dog with no limp at all.

Troy has been sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped, he loves the company of other dogs and people of all ages, he is a playful and friendly dog that has a loving nature and would bring joy to any household.

Troy is eager to please and tries his hardest to do whatever is asked of him, he is truly a special boy who is extremely affectionate and yearns for a family to call his own or a single person that he can love, please contact me if you can make Troy's dreams come true.

We are a shelter dedicated to healing animals and take them back home once they have recovered. We fetched Jax when his owner asked for help, he was suffering from severe billary and after several weeks of treatment he recovered but sadly, when he was ready to go home we were informed by his owner that he no longer wanted him so Jax has no where to go.

Jax is a magnificent, strong and loyal dog with a deeply loving nature, he is 2 to 3 years old and has been fully vaccinated, sterilized and microchipped, he is great with people of all ages and is wonderful with other dogs both male and female.

If you can help Jax please contact me, he is not happy at our shelter, he is missing the family that abandoned him. Dogs are so loyal and Jax can't understand what happened, he sits all day in the same spot watching the gate hoping that some one will come and fetch him the sight of him sitting there day after day breaks our hearts, if you can help Jax by giving him a good home please call me urgently he’s waiting by the gate for you.

Four little girls' dogs and one female cat now have a litter-free future free to live their own lives without the pain and exhaustion of giving birth to countless puppies and kittens.

Sterilisation isn't just a procedure it is freedom, it is protection and it is a chance for these girls to live healthier, happier lives. ❤️

A huge THANK YOU to Woodrock for helping these little girls and giving them that chance. Your support makes an incredible difference to the animals in our care, and our entire Glenda's Dogs Rescue family truly appreciates you. 🙏🐾

Together, we can sterilise, prevent unwanted litters, reduce suffering and save lives.

Mikki didn’t know what he had done wrong and couldn’t understand why he was no longer allowed back into his home, he sat outside the gate for a long time but received no attention from his owner and was forced to find food and water on the rubbish dumps but always returned at night to sleep outside his gate hoping that he would be allowed back in his yard, eventually a neighbor called us and asked us to help Mikki which we did and today he is this magnificent dog in the picture.

Mikki is good with other dogs and adapts easily, he is loyal and loving and extremely friendly to everybody he meets, he loves people, young and old and enjoys the love and attention he never received from his previous owners.

Mikki's heart was broken when he came to live at our shelter but today he is a happy, healthy boy looking for a new chance at life and a home of his own, he has been vaccinated, sterilized and microchipped and can’t wait to get out of our shelter if you can help Mikki please contact me.

Coco is a “golden oldie" and although she has a scary appearance because she is a Boerbull mix, she is a gentle old lady of 7/8 years old with a kind and affectionate personality.

Coco was not wanted once she got old and no longer served her purpose as a watchdog for her owner's cars, she had a hard life but survived the conditions in the township and is still strong and healthy.

Coco has been sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped and has many more years to live comfortably in a home of her own, she is a wonderful companion and would fit into any family as a family dog or as a friend to a single person as she is a friendly and gentle girl who gets on well with other dogs and loves humans of all genders and ages.

Coco really needs a loving home as she is not happy at our shelter as the conditions there are not suitable for an elderly dog. She really is a gentle soul and deserves to end her retirement years in comfort and security, if you can help Coco by giving her the home she deserves please contact me.
