​Scouting simply wouldn't happen without your dedication, energy, and passion. Whether you are planning weekly meetings, running outdoor adventures, managing the gear, or helping out with fundraising and administration, your impact is immeasurable.

Because of you, our scouts are learning vital life skills, building lifelong friendships, and growing into confident leaders.

​...um, but I’m not sure where they went because that barrel is empty now! 🤔🫣 What anime magic is this? Did they find a Warp Hole to the Grand Line? 🌊

🏕️ "Where are your kids?"
​It’s a question we get all the time as Scout parents. Usually, people expect us to say they're at home, at a playdate, or at sports practice.

​When we say "They’re at Scouts or Camp," it’s often met with a look of wonderment—or even a little worry! We hear it often: "How do you let your kids sleep out in the cold and fend for themselves?" (Especially when they are only 11 13!)

​The answer is simple: BE PREPARED. 🛡️

​From the very first week as a Meerkat, Cub, or Scout, our children are learning how to navigate the real world. They aren't just "hanging out"—they are building the foundations of independence.

Before they even turn 18, our Scouts can:
​🏗️ Build their own shelters from scratch. With just rope and poles
​🪚 Construct their own tables, washing basins, and camp infrastructure.
​🛶 Engineer rafts and navigate the water.
​🥾 Hike for kilometers with everything they need on their backs.
​🍳 Cook their own meals over an open fire.
​🩹 Apply comprehensive First Aid knowledge in an emergency.
💬 they problem solvers, and self reliant, teamwork players and leaders all in one.

​Most importantly? They have the time of their lives doing it.

​The truth is, not many adults—even those double their age—can say they have these skills. We aren't just sending them to camp; we are setting them up for life. Our kids are prepared for whatever the world throws at them. 🌍✨

We’ve had a busy start to the year at 1st Horison!

Between our newest Meerkats joining the burrow, our Cubs hitting the hiking paths, and the exciting growth of our Scout troop—including a whole new patrol—the energy is at an all-time high.

​Proud of every one of our members for their dedication and spirit! 👏⚜️
​Looking forward to our next adventures! 🏕️🛶
