We have been training a great team of two Belgian Malinois. Delta and Loki- after completing their basic training, go on to start their advanced tracking and building up their skills. We’ve been happy to see them excel.

Loki makes it easy for the handler to read and trust him and he has shown great skill as he conducts his own 360’s, which is impressive for a young dog to pick up. While he’s still a young dog, he relies on his handler a lot, but we look forward to seeing how he grows independently. Now, he has started his off-leash tracking and shows great potential.

Delta excelled in her leash tracking and has become a calm, focused tracking dog. Elea Gourgousse oversaw her basic tracking and obedience, influencing Delta’s happy and excited energy. She has already exercised tracks off-leash and self-recalls with ease.

These two K9s will go on to Lalibela, where they will take on their roles as tracking dogs. With the ongoing support and training with Tristan Patrick from Colbec K9.

It has been great to have these two join our family, and watch their skills and characters grow.

Rangers / Guides enter the distance of their choice (individuals or team entries).
Final running times will be “handicapped” by applying difficulty multiplier / percentage that is largely dependent on the cumulative elevation gain across each route:
70km = 1 (100%)
44km = 0.65 (65%),
30km = 0.47 (47%) and
20km = 0.21 (21%).

We will crown the winning individual Ranger and Winning Ranger Team (determined using the fastest 2 times) at Prize Giving on Sunday 7 July for the ultimate bragging rights, 2024!

Colbec K9 ( Colin Patrick) is actively involved in supporting reserves and communities, local community security forums and the Southern African Police Force. This service is provided voluntary and is conducted without financial renumeration. Support in the form of equipment and travel and support for K9 expenses such as food and vet bills are needed. Small or big, every little bit helps.
