The EST - Emergency Support Team recently had the privilege of participating in Mense Wat Omgee, a community-focused radio programme on Pretoria FM proudly sponsored by CrisisOnCall.
The discussion focused on injuries in the workplace, a topic that affects thousands of South Africans every year and one that remains highly relevant to employers, employees, first responders, and emergency medical personnel alike.
To add further value to the conversation, EST invited industry expert Stephan Heyneke from DDI to share his knowledge and experience. His insights helped provide listeners with a deeper understanding of workplace safety, risk management, injury prevention, and the importance of creating safer working environments.
As first responders, we often witness the real-life consequences of workplace incidents. While emergency response is important, prevention remains the most effective tool in protecting lives and reducing injuries. Through community education and meaningful conversations such as these, we can help create safer workplaces and better-informed communities.
We would like to thank Pretoria FM, CrisisOnCall, and Stephan Heyneke from DDI - Dynamic Development Institute for the opportunity to be part of this important discussion and for their ongoing commitment to community awareness and public education.
At EST, our mission extends beyond emergency response. We believe in educating, empowering, and supporting the communities we serve every day.
For the Community, By the Community.
