A joyful celebration of World Play Day 2026 brought smiles and meaningful moments for every child and the staff. The day was filled with a variety of indigenous games that encouraged teamwork and creativity. There was also a special reading corner where children could sit, read, and enjoy different stories. It was truly a wonderful day that showed how play can bring everyone together❤️✨️

Second Teacher Professional Development Workshop organized by St. Mary’s DCC Literacy and Outreach Development Coordinator, Brendan Williams

The workshop had a successful turnout, hosting close to 50 educators from several schools across Makhanda.

The session was facilitated by Phelia Kramm, Teaching Practice Coordinator at the Rhodes University Faculty of Education, alongside Dr. Wellington Hokonya, Lecturer in the Department of Primary and Early Childhood Education.

Thank you to all the educators who attended and contributed to the success of the workshop.

Our grade 3 learners continued exploring the connection between Music and Maths through musical instruments and body percussion. By counting beats, recognizing patterns, and creating rhythms they discovered how music can make Mathematical concepts fun and interactive❤️✨️
