Before We Pray
This prayer is not intended merely as words spoken individually, but as united intercession offered together before YHVH. Scripture reminds us that our struggle is not simply against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces and powers operating in unseen places:
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” — Ephesians 6:12
As we pray over cities, towns, provinces, and nations, we recognize that we are praying concerning matters that affect multitudes of people, communities, and territories. Therefore we come not in fear, but clothed with the full armor of Elohim and standing in the authority of Y’shua HaMashiach.
There is strength in unified prayer. Y’shua Himself declared:
“For where two or three are gathered together in My Name, there am I in the midst of them.” — Matthew 18:20
When believers gather with one heart, one mind, and one purpose before YHVH, agreement is formed in heaven and on earth. Division weakens, but unity strengthens. Fear scatters, but faith joins together. One may stand and pray, but many standing together create a united cry rising before the throne of the Most High.
As we enter this time of prayer, let every heart be humble before YHVH. Let there be forgiveness among us, love toward one another, and unity in the Spirit. Let every distraction, fear, doubt, and burden be laid aside.
May YHVH stand in our midst.
May His presence go before us.
May His angels surround us.
May His Spirit guide us.
May His Name be exalted over every city, every town, every province, every nation, and every people.
Now let us come together in faith and seek the face of YHVH as one body and one voice.
Amen.
A Prayer Over Cities, Towns, Provinces, and Nations
Abba Father, YHVH Elohim, Ancient of Days, Creator of heaven and earth, King above all kings and Sovereign over all nations.
We come before Your throne in humility and awe, acknowledging that You alone establish kingdoms and remove them, You alone set boundaries for peoples, and You alone hold the breath of every living soul in Your hands. You have made from one blood every nation of men to dwell upon the face of the earth, and all nations belong to You.
Father, Your Word declares that all the ends of the earth shall remember and turn unto You, and all the families and kindreds of the nations shall worship before You. Therefore we cry out for our cities, our towns, our provinces, our communities, and our nations.
We stand in the gap and repent before You. Forgive us where pride has replaced humility, where wickedness has replaced righteousness, where truth has been exchanged for deception, and where hearts have turned from Your ways. Your Word says that righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.
Father, if we as Your people humble ourselves and pray, seek Your face and turn from our wicked ways, You promised that You would hear from heaven, forgive sin, and heal the land. We therefore cry out:
Heal our lands, YHVH.
Heal our cities.
Heal our streets.
Heal our homes.
Heal our governments.
Heal our families.
Heal the hearts of the people.
Where darkness has spread, let Your light arise.
Your Word declares:
“Arise, shine; for your light has come.”
Let Your light break through every shadow over our nations. Let Your truth overcome deception. Let Your peace overcome violence. Let Your mercy overcome judgment. Let Your righteousness spring forth before all nations as the earth brings forth its growth.
Father, we seek the peace of our cities and towns. We pray for peace within our borders and peace within our communities. Let neighborhoods once filled with fear become places of safety. Let streets marked by violence become places of hope. Let homes filled with sorrow become homes filled with praise.
Gather Your people as Y’shua cried over Jerusalem:
“How often I desired to gather your children together.”
Gather the lost.
Gather the broken.
Gather the wandering.
Gather the prodigals.
Gather those who have forgotten You.
Father, draw the nations unto Yourself. Cause many people to say:
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of YHVH.”
Let a hunger for truth arise across the earth. Let hearts awaken. Let spiritual eyes open. Let ears hear Your voice.
We ask that Your gospel would go forth to every tribe, every people, every language, and every nation as a witness throughout the whole earth. Raise up laborers, messengers, watchmen, and servants who will proclaim Your Name boldly and faithfully.
Father, remember the nations before You. Let mercy triumph where judgment is deserved. For You said if a nation turns from evil You will relent from destruction.
Turn hearts back to You.
Turn leaders back to wisdom.
Turn communities back to righteousness.
Turn nations back to truth.
May many nations be joined unto You in that day, and may all peoples walk in Your light.
And we declare by faith:
The earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of YHVH as the waters cover the sea.
We look toward that great day when a multitude that no man can number—from every nation, tribe, people, and tongue—will stand before Your throne and worship You forever.
Until that day, establish Your purposes in the earth.
Be exalted among the nations.
Be glorified among the peoples.
Be lifted high over every city, every town, every province, and every nation.
In the Name of Y’shua HaMashiach we pray.
Amen.
