π Today We Celebrate 10 Years of Vasco Special Needs Centre π
At 09:00 this morning, exactly 10 years ago, the very first workshop of Vasco Special Needs Centre began. What started as a small step with a big dream has grown into a place of belonging, learning, creativity, and opportunity for the incredible young adults who form part of our VSNC family. π
Many people recognise the multicolour handprint in our logo. That handprint is much more than a design β it represents the heart of VSNC.
A handprint is unique. No two handprints are ever the same, just as no two people with special needs are ever the same. Every person who comes to VSNC brings their own abilities, personality, challenges, and strengths that make them wonderfully unique.
The many colours represent diversity, acceptance, creativity, and inclusion. When those colours come together, they create something beautiful β just like the supportive community that has grown around VSNC over the past decade.
A handprint also symbolises connection. It reminds us of the helping hands of parents, families, facilitators, volunteers, donors, and friends who have supported VSNC along the journey. But it also represents the hands of our attendees β hands that learn new skills, create beautiful crafts, help one another, and show us every day what determination and resilience truly look like.
Over the past 10 years, many hands have helped shape Vasco Special Needs Centre into the nurturing space it is today.
Today we want to say thank you β
Thank you to the parents and families who trusted us.
Thank you to our staff and facilitators who pour their hearts into their work every day.
Thank you to the volunteers, supporters, and donors who believed in our vision.
And most importantly, thank you to the incredible young adults who make VSNC the special place that it is.
Each of you has left your handprint on our story.
Hereβs to the past 10 yearsβ¦ and to many more years of growth, opportunity, and celebrating abilities together. π¦
