After 16 and a half years of faithful love and service, we have said farewell to our beloved House Mother, Rachel Uys. 💛

Rachel has lovingly cared for and nurtured so many of our babies over the years, with more than 70 little ones being adopted and placed into forever homes both here in South Africa and overseas.

Her kindness, patience, and motherly heart have left a lasting impact on countless lives, and she will always hold a special place in the Ray of Hope family.

We honour and deeply appreciate Rachel for her many years of dedicated service, and we wish her every blessing, joy, and happiness in her retirement. 🌸

WISHES COME TRUE BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU

Our March wish is for fly traps for our kitchen and outdoor areas. These are essential in helping us maintain a clean, hygienic environment where our babies are fed, cared for and spend time outside.

We are appealing to a hardware store, supplier or generous individual who may be able to assist with providing effective fly traps for the home. A Section 18A donation certificate will be provided for all contributions.

If you are not able to help financially, simply sharing this post helps us more than you know. Every share helps us reach someone who may be able to make this wish come true.

What a beautiful day celebrating Azania’s 3rd birthday at Ray of Hope 🎉💖 It was so special to have her visit and spend this joyful day with her friends here.

Samantha organised a lovely party with balloons, snacks, and lots of fun, and Azania enjoyed every moment. We are so grateful to share in her joy and celebrate this milestone with her. Happy Birthday, sweet Azania! 🎂🎈

✨WISHES COME TRUE BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU.✨
Our February wish is a new/refurbished aircon installed in the babies’ playroom and a ceiling fan in the Carer’s Bedroom. This space is used every day for play, development and interaction. A comfortable temperature is important for our babies’ health, safety and wellbeing, especially during warmer months.

We are appealing to an air conditioning company or an individual who could assist with supplying and installing a unit. A Section 18A donations certificate will be issued.

Little Baby Z turned two in the sweetest way yesterday 💕

She came back to ROH, where she spent her first year and a half, to celebrate with the carers and little friends who loved her first.

Party hats, cake, tiny hands clapping and the most beautiful full circle moment. ROH will always be part of her story 🎉💗

One of our special volunteers at Ray of Hope, Samantha, recently took time to meet with the incredible moms who adopted two of our precious babies. Moments like these remind us that the journey doesn’t end at adoption — it’s a lifelong connection built on love, care, and community. We are so grateful for volunteers like Samantha and for families who open their hearts and homes. 💕✨

Our January wish is for banners and flags outside our Baby Home to help with visibility and signage. Clear, welcoming signage helps families, service providers and supporters find us easily. It helps our home feel visible, recognised and supported by the community around us.

We are appealing to a branding or signage company, or a generous individual, who would be willing to help us with flying banners, pull up banners or similar signage. A Section 18A Donations Certificate will be issued.
