Good Day Primrose Community

⛔️ EFF NATIONAL SHUTDOWN ⛔️

CPF together with SAPS, EMPD, Ward Councillors, Afriforum and all Security Stakeholders have been put on high alert with immediate effect until Tuesday/end of National Shutdown.

We are ready and prepared for any disruptions.

We have many vehicles on the road and will be monitoring the whole of Primrose. We ask the residents of Primrose to remain calm and vigilant and to get involved by reporting anything suspicious.

We urge Community not to travel along Main Reef Rd due to the intel received, as this may be a high risk area.

We also also urge the community to please inform us of any tyres or rubble you see being dumped anywhere in Primrose so we can have it removed immediately.

Your Law enforcement stakeholders holders have your back, please have theirs...

Rainbow Restaurant at Primrose cnr & Rainbow Restaurant on Rietfontein Rd next to Rainbow Liquor Store were both closed down today by our Gauteng Liquor Board and Health Inspector for non-compliance.

They also received fines from SAPS for non-compliance on specific things.

Quick Saver Liquor Store on Rietfontein Rd and H20 also received fines from SAPS today.

Other Liquor establishments checked today was X Factor & Rainbow Liquor Store.

Next week Monday the 20th the EFF intend to protest a number of their grievances and bring areas to a standstill.

Two incidents today , where members of the CPF, Private Security sector, and SAPS have located abandoned tyres at key points such as intersections (trees nearby) and similar type areas. Such tyres were removed

It is thought that this may be used in the monday protests (to block the roads and set the tyres alight).

Tyres are being dumped from now as it may be difficult to transport tyres to areas by want-to-be-strikers whose aim is to block roads with burning tyres and create blockages as part of their protest.

❗ *Please be on the look out for such dumping , tyres or anything that may be used to block roads.*

Please report on this group or your local CPF or Security groups for quick response with a GPS location and picture of the tyres in question.
Let's be proactive and alert to stop criminal activity.

The PRIMROSE SAPS Management and CPF are aware of WhatsApp messages circulating regarding a possible SAPS strike on 17 March 2023 and the National Shutdown on 20 March 2023.

We can confirm that on 20 March 2023, all law enforcement (SAPS, EMPD, CPF, Afriforum, Security Stakeholders, and Neighborhood watches) will be on high alert. *LAWLESSNESS AND CRIMINALITY will NOT BE TOLERATED in Primrose*.

Reason for National Shutdown - The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) are planning to bring the country to a standstill on 20 March over load shedding, and will also be calling for the resignation of President Cyril Ramaphosa.

*Therer is NO confirmed info received for a SAP strike on 17 March 2023.*

Many of these messages and social media reports are unverified.

During the previous unrests, much of the violence was fuelled by social media and was likely being driven by all the sharing we were seeing.
• Residents are urged 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀.
• Keep the CRIME/EMERGENCY groups clear for emergencies only.
• If you are unsure, please contact the Admins directly.

PRIMROSE SAPS working together with PRIMROSE CPF, various law enforcement, security stakeholders as well as neighboring Community Police Forums will monitor details as received.

‼️ INCREASE IN CRIME ‼️

CPF are once again advising Primrose Community that there is an increase in crime throughout the area, specifically Wychwood A, Malvern East, Gerdview & Primrose East .

Crimes happening in these areas:

• House Breakins
• Theft of Motor Vehicle
• Common Robbery

❗️Smash & Grab also on increase at intersection Rietfontein and Shamrock Rd - BE ALERT

We recommend you have
or apply the following security recommendations:

1. A functional alarm system.

2. Test your alarm panic buttons every two weeks with your service provider that they receive the signal (due to load shedding, every alarm is at risk from power sources, to damaged components).

3. Install beams in your garden.

4. You have an electric fence.

5. Alarms, beams, electric fences are linked to your service provider.

6. Install brackets on your gate so it cannot be lifted.

7. Install brackets on gate motor.

8. Cameras are always a great deterrent.

9. Check batteries in alarm and gate motor that they are adequate and will last during extended load shedding.

10. Solar lights in your front and backyards - always good to keep yard lit up at night.

11. Cut away shrubs and bushes in front if yard/on pavement as this helps criminals hide.

12. Park your vehicles behind locked gates, where this is not possible, make sure vehicle is parked in a well lit area and is locked and alarm is on.

13. Do not walk on streets with valuables showing. Put cellphones away. Also try walk in groups.

Community Police Forum members from Bedfordview CPF, Cleveland, Edenvale Community Police Forum, Germiston, Primrose CPF and Sandringham attended the Crime Scene Awareness training hosted by Bedfordview CPF, Saturday 22nd October 2022.

The aim of the training as first responders to a scene, is to preserve and secure the evidence and assist SAPS and other authorities.

Oliver Gracio from DataDOT shared with members what is a DataDOT and how this tiny microdot assists in identifying a vehicle and or assets with its own unique “DNA”.

In the second session, Captain Poynan and Captain Sabiya from LCRC presented what is a crime scene, what steps are taken to preserve a scene and different types of evidence.

The day ended with a practical to put the theory learnt into practice.

❗OPERATION OKAE MOLAO PRIMROSE❗

Yesterday 18 August 2022, Ekurhuleni West District together with all surrounding SAPS Stations, Primrose SAPS, EMPD, Primrose CPF, Spider Tactical and Circinus conducted an operation "Okae Maloa" throughout Primrose.

Operation started at around 5:30am and finished at 1pm.

This operation targeted all aspects of crime and by-laws in Primrose and was a huge success.

We targeted all Hotspots throughout Primrose including Informal Settlements.

Operation involved roadblocks, VCP, searching of persons, searching of vehicles, searching of known drug houses, liquor establishments and spaza shops.

*SUCCESSES*

* Arrests for dealing in drugs
* Arrests for possession of drugs
* Arrests of Illegal immigrants
* Arrests for dealing in liquor without a license
* Siezure of drugs (mandrax & dagga)
* Seizure of alcohol
* Traffic fines
* Liqour Establishments fined for non-compliance

Well done to all involved and thank you for your time.

Our law enforcement need to continue with this NO TOLERANCE TO CRIME action.
