The Fourways Improvement District is escalating to and working with the Gauteng Provincial Department of Roads and Transport (GPDRT) to resolve maintenance and repair issues across the Fourways node and we understand the ongoing frustrations. There has already been some work and equipment repair done at the intersections of Cedar & Blvd, Cedar & Wikoppen, Winnie Mandela & Witkoppen and Winnie Mandela & Kingfisher. The contractors are still at work troubleshooting, making repairs and addressing cable faults due to vandalism. It's a work in progress, and we appreciate your patience.

Highlight for the week, JMPD conducted a special operation removing illegal traders and illegal structures along Winnie Mandela Drive as part of ongoing efforts to improve safety, by law compliance and the overall environment within the precinct.

Fourways Improvement District | June 2026 Monthly Update

Another month of dedicated service delivery, proactive patrols and ongoing maintenance has helped keep Fourways clean, safe and welcoming for all who live, work and visit the precinct.

Throughout June, the team focused on verge maintenance, litter removal, daily servicing of public space bins, responding to illegal dumping, and working closely with stakeholders to address service delivery issues across the district.

Thank you to our operational teams, partners and members for your continued support in making a difference every day.

📢 New Municipal Tariffs Effective 1 July 2026

The City of Johannesburg's Council-approved 2026/27 municipal tariffs officially come into effect today, 1 July 2026.

The approved increases are as follows:
⚡ Electricity: 8.63%
💧 Water: 12.5%
🚽 Sanitation: 11%
🗑️ Refuse: 6.2%
🏡 Property Rates: 3.6%

Residents are encouraged to familiarise themselves with these changes to better manage their municipal accounts.

Clean-Up in Action on the corner of Uranium Street & Cedar Road.

After a large amount of litter and waste accumulated at the corner of Uranium Street and Cedar Road, our cleaning team responded swiftly to clear the affected area. The team removed debris from the roadway and surrounding gutters, helping to improve both the appearance of the intersection and the safety of road users and pedestrians.

Illegal dumping and littering continue to impact public spaces, but through ongoing maintenance and the hard work of our cleaning team, we are able to restore and maintain a cleaner, more welcoming environment for everyone.

A big thank you to our cleaning team for their commitment and hard work, and to our members for their continued support in helping us keep Fourways clean, safe, and well maintained.

Following our recent work-in-progress update, our teams have successfully completed the clean-up along Fourways Boulevard. The area has been cleared of litter, overgrown weeds have been removed, and a final clean-up has restored the space to a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment.

Transformation starts with consistent action.

Our teams have been hard at work along Fourways Boulevard, removing litter, clearing accumulated waste, and restoring the area to a cleaner and more welcoming condition. The team will complete the weeding and final clean up in the coming days.

Keeping Fourways clean is a continuous effort, and every improvement contributes to a safer, more attractive environment for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
