Today, we join the global Ombud community in celebrating International Ombud Day 2026 under the theme “Ombuds: Office of Options.” ⚖️

We are live at Alexandra Plaza, alongside the National Financial Ombud Scheme South Africa (NFO), Johannesburg Ombud and the National Consumer Commission (NCC). Together, we are hosting exhibitions and presentations to promote consumer rights, accountability and fair dispute resolution. 🤝

Yesterday, the CGSO Satellite Office at Fort Hare University Alice Campus participated in the inaugural Careers Indaba, connecting students with valuable opportunities and resources available to them as they prepare to transition from university into the world of work. 🎓

HAPPENING NOW | CGCSA SUMMIT 2026

Our CEO, Ms Queen Munyai, is taking part in the panel discussion “The Great E-Commerce & Third-Party Reality Check” at the CGCSA Summit 2026, hosted at Vodacom World Events, Randjesfontein, Midrand.

Ms Munyai is highlighting the need for:

✅ Accountability across the entire value chain
✅ Alignment between the CPA and ECTA to strengthen consumer protection in the digital marketplace
✅ Seller traceability: suppliers and sellers should be identifiable and encouraged to register with the CGSO
✅ Free CPA training for registered suppliers to promote compliance and responsible business practices

The conversation is centred on building a safer, more accountable and consumer-conscious e-commerce environment. 🛒📱

The CGSO took part in a Service Delivery Exhibition at Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality in collaboration with the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) in the North West Province. 📍

Today, we are at Mbuyazi Primary School in Pinetown, KZN, raising awareness of consumer rights under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). 🛡️

The workshop highlights the CGSO’s free dispute resolution services and common consumer challenges, including defective goods, poor service, misleading advertising, and unfair contracts.

In collaboration with KZN Economic Development, the National Consumer Commission, SABS Approved, NRCS, The Competition Commission South Africa, the Department of Employment and Labour, and the SA Human Rights Commission 🤝🏽
