SIHLE MABENA REAPPEARED AT EVANDER CIVIL COURT

Sihle Mabena, the Secretary General for Govan Mbeki First Youth Desk, reappeared before the Evander Civil Court today, 06 January 2026.

This is after principals, or rather school officials, alleged that Mabena incited violence among learners, leading to boycotting classes after there were allegations of sexual harassment against male teachers from the schools.

A protection order was posed against Mabena. During his first appearance, the matter was postponed for the complaints' legal representatives to be present before court.

The defense attorney, Miss Koki, served the applicants with notice questioning the legal capacity of the various principals to institute legal action on behalf of the schools without prior SGB resolution or mandate from the Department of Education.

The matter was postponed to the 17th of February 2026 for reconsideration of the application. - Ses'khona Newspaper
