Tessa van Heerden, takes care of many helpless, stray, neglected and abused animals within the impoverished communities of East London.

She has many dogs and cats on her feeding program and goes into the townships daily to try and make a difference.

Mommy and three kittens were left behind when the tenants left. The new tenants coming in are not prepared to have the mommy and three little babies; they’re still dependent on her.

If anyone can help temporarily until we find a permanent home…

We are in desperate need of a large dog kennel 🏠🏠 to provide some much needed shelter for a specifically needy dog family in one of our township rotations.

Please reach out if you have an unused or old kennel; alternatively we would be so grateful for a donation🙏 shelter is often such an underrated bare minimum right that could make ALL the difference to a life of suffering.

I’m in desperate need of cat food. It is too terrible to see such hunger and the cold and wet adding to their misery.

I’m barely able to feed this week as all food is depleted. The most hungry in the squatter area of the township I would appreciate the blessing of dog and cat food to prevent further misery as so many depend on food.

She is really improving week after week with her treatment and good food❤️🙏. She's a real sweetheart I will continue to give her all she needs

Chaining is cruel and unfair💔💔

I came across a female boerbol in the township. It was evident her life started on a heavy chain and wire, while being trapped in isolation along with fear for a long time.

For some time, her owner overlooked the injuries caused from the chain 💔 The wire was so deeply embedded into her into her neck with severe infection. I immediately removed her and ensured she received emergency veterinary care she so badly needed. Sadly, it was established that she due to the severity of her injuries and her fear it was more merciful to put her to sleep

I am devastated these animals are failed daily by their owners and no psychoeducation surrounding animal care seems to allow me to catch up and prevent this 💔🫩 I’m grateful, in welfare, that when we can’t save them, atleast we can offer a merciful death, without prolonged suffering and distress. For most township animals, that is the only kindness they encounter in their lives.

Tragically animal suffering does not pause at all. It’s real, dreadful and heartbreaking.
I immediately removed her and her life will change forever.
