SATIC MOURNS THE PASSING OF THEATRE AND SCREEN LEGEND SEPUTLA SEBOGODI

The South African Theatre Industries Chamber (SATIC) joins the nation and the broader creative sector in mourning the passing of legendary actor, director and theatre-maker Ntate Seputla Sebogodi.
A giant of South African stage and screen has taken his final bow.
Ntate Sebogodi was a formidable storyteller whose remarkable career enriched South African theatre, television and film. Through his commanding stage presence, unforgettable television performances and lifelong commitment to the craft of acting, he helped shape the countryās cultural landscape and inspired generations of performers.
His work reflected the depth, complexity and humanity of South African stories. Beyond the memorable characters he portrayed, he represented artistic excellence, resilience and dedication to the performing arts.
The South African theatre industry has lost one of its most distinguished sons. However, his voice, performances and contribution to the development of South African storytelling will remain firmly embedded in our cultural history.
SATIC extends its deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the Sebogodi family, his friends, colleagues, fellow artists and the many audiences whose lives were touched by his extraordinary talent.
May his family find strength and comfort during this difficult period.
Rest in power, Ntate Seputla Sebogodi. Your final curtain call may have come, but your legacy will continue to command the stage.
