Today is a deeply meaningful day for The MEG Foundation, as we remember and celebrate the life of our Miya Emma Govender on what would have been her second birthday. Though Miya’s time on earth was far too short, her life continues to inspire hope, compassion, and strength through the legacy she has left behind.
The MEG Foundation was founded in honour of Miya Emma Govender, and carries her name as a symbol of love, courage, and remembrance. Through her legacy, the foundation aims to bring comfort and hope to families facing the challenges of caring for sick babies and children.
The rainbow in the MEG Foundation logo is not merely a rainbow, but holds a special and powerful meaning. In the Bible, the rainbow represents God’s promise — a promise of hope, peace, and faithfulness even after storms and suffering. It serves as a reminder that even in moments of pain and heartbreak, there is still light, love, and hope to hold onto.
The MEG Foundation stands as that beacon of hope for families walking difficult journeys. Through support, compassion, and community, the Foundation strives to remind parents that they are never alone.
Today, as we honour Miya's heavenly birthday, we celebrate not only the beautiful child she was, but also the lives her legacy continues to touch every single day.
