The Valley Trust

The Valley Trust We help communities of limited means to sustainably ensure their own good health. Strategic Objectives
1.

The Valley Trust (TVT) was established in 1953 as a socio-medical centre for health promotion in the Valley of a Thousand Hills (the valley) in the Outer West region of eThekwini, KwaZulu-Natal. In its long and distinguished history, TVT has worked with local stakeholders to bring much-needed development in its target area including the introduction of piped water, roads, recreation halls and prom

oting the establishment of household and communal vegetable gardens. TVT has also formed strong bonds with local stakeholders and works closely with traditional and elected (municipal) leadership, local structures, government departments and other non-profit organisations. Vision
The communities of the Valley of a Thousand Hills living healthy and active lives as full participants in a democratic South Africa. Mission
To use health and other means to improve the overall well-being of the communities of the Valley while continuing to be an example of sustainable and holistic community development. Educating the community on living healthily and ensuring access to public health care.
2. Improving the wellbeing of households so they can address their own needs.
3. Being a bridge between local communities and resources that are needed by the communities for their wellbeing.
4. Increasing the capacity of community members to earn an income and secure employment.
5. Organisational sustainability - ensuring that TVT thrives into the future.

This youth month, we honour the brave youth of June 16, 1976, who marched for freedom and equal education. Their courage paved the way for our democracy. Let’s protect their legacy by empowering the youth of today.

At The Valley Trust we love empowering the Valley youth!
From Commrades volunteers, to our youth Career Expo, Elangeni College youth awareness events, to trainings and internships…….we love the youth.πŸ’šπŸ‘πŸ½

So wonderful to see our ECD & Health team running a workshop with local ECD practitioners.
Sharing knowledge, tools and creating learning materials, so our little ones get the best start.
When we invest in our ECDs, we invest in the future of our whole community.πŸ§’πŸΎπŸ’šπŸ‘¦πŸΏ

We were honoured to be invited to Inkazimulo Primary School for a Child Protection Awareness session. During our talk, we assured learners of their rights to safety and dignity. We taught them the difference between safe touch and unsafe touch, and gave them clear steps on what to do and who to tell if they ever feel unsafe or experience abuse.

Every child deserves to grow up protected, informed, and heard.πŸ’šπŸ’ͺπŸΎπŸ‘πŸ½πŸ™πŸΎπŸ‘¦πŸΏπŸ§’πŸΎ

Thank you for wrapping our new moms and babies in loveπŸ’›

We’re so grateful to for the beautiful handmade baby blankets and maternity pads donated to our Health Programme. The warmth and care in every stitch will be paid forward to the newest humans in our community.

And a huge thank you to for the gorgeous baby wraps. Now our mommies can keep their little ones close to their chest, hands-free, while getting on with their day.

Your support makes early motherhood softer, safer, and a little more joyful. From all of us at Valley Trust Health Programme β€” thank you for loving our moms and babies well.

At Valley Trust Health Project, our Boys 2 Men support group walks alongside young men in our community. Through real conversations on circumcision, gender-based violence, and bullying, we create a safe space for boys to ask questions, grow, and choose respect. Because we care about who they become. They won’t be left behind β€” we’re walking with them all the way to wholeness.
