M4 Closure Tuesday, 13 October

Please note that there will be a temporary closure of the M4 at the M27 Interchange tomorrow, Tuesday, 13 October, from 09h00 to 15h00, to accommodate ongoing bridge widening works.

🚗 Traffic will be diverted via the existing interchange on- and off-ramps, with traffic management measures in place.

Motorists are encouraged to plan, follow diversion signage and allow for possible delays.

September was another productive month for environmental management across Sibaya, with 23.4 hectares of priority conservation areas managed and control efforts targeting 11 invasive alien plant species.

From rehabilitation follow-ups to servitude and trail maintenance, it’s consistent, hands-on work that helps indigenous vegetation reclaim its space and strengthens the health of our natural areas.

TRAFFIC ALERT: Sibaya M4 Intersection Now Open

Please take note that the Salta Intersection is now open and operating as a four-way stop.

🛑 Stop signs are in place
🚧 Road markings have been painted

Please approach the intersection with caution and be aware of the new traffic arrangement as motorists adjust.

Exploring the Sibaya Coastal Forest should be as safe as it is beautiful.

Damaged steps along the forest trails have recently been repaired, creating safer, more secure footing for walkers while helping to keep the trails in good condition.

Heavy rains inevitably push debris downstream, and much of it eventually finds its way onto our coastline.

Following the recent downpours, beach clean-up efforts by the SPMMA were quickly underway to clear washed-up debris and help restore Sibaya’s shoreline

Over the past week, SPMMA has been tackling important maintenance issues across the precinct:

🔹 A significant concrete spill caused by a property contractor was addressed following engagement with the property, with the affected section suitably cleaned.

🔹 A compromised berm along the Node 5 servitude was reinstated, helping restore effective stormwater management and protect the surrounding landscape.

A striking male Boomslang was spotted alongside the path at Gold Coast Estate Dam last night.

Remember to keep your eyes open when enjoying the area - especially when walking dogs, as snakes can be easily missed among the vegetation.

The transformation of Node 5 and the attenuation pond are underway.

Ongoing site preparation and the removal of invasive vegetation are laying the groundwork for something much bigger: restoring a healthier, more resilient natural landscape.

Here’s what’s happening:
