Update: Planned Water Shutdown Extended 🚨

We have received updated communication from eThekwini Municipality that the planned water shutdown affecting Sibaya and Umdloti has been delayed and extended until 11h00.

Residents are encouraged to continue using water sparingly and keep contingency measures in place until supply is fully restored.

Road users are advised that a temporary traffic diversion is currently in place on the M27 between the M4 Southbound Ramps and the Salta Intersection, running through to 20 August 2026.

These works form part of an important infrastructure upgrade, including the installation of a culvert across the roadway. Traffic is being safely redirected onto a newly constructed section of road adjacent to the existing carriageway while construction is underway.

Motorists should expect delays, particularly during peak hours, and are urged to drive with caution, adhere to all signage, and follow traffic control measures in place.

M4 Maintenance Underway 🚧

The DOT is currently clearing overgrown vegetation along the M4 between Sibaya Drive Circle and the M27.

Please drive carefully and expect some delays in the area.

Even in the cooler months, our landscaping teams are hard at work across the Sibaya Precinct - keeping verges neat, pathways clear, and green spaces well maintained.

Winter is a crucial time for maintenance, from trimming and tidying to preparing areas for the seasons ahead, ensuring the precinct continues to look its best year-round.

Work is still underway to clear the Node 1 pond to prevent the overgrowth of alien vegetation that could affect the ecosystem's health.

Our teams are carefully removing invasive plants to improve water flow, restore natural balance, and create a healthier environment for local flora and fauna.

NOTICE: A water main has been damaged and is currently affecting Umdloti and Saxony Sibaya.

Plumbers are already on site working on repairs, and the eThekwini Municipality is en route to assist.

Our cleaning, greening and maintenance teams have been hard at work along Heleza Boulevard, repairing and reinstating damaged pavers to ensure safe, neat, and well-maintained pedestrian pathways.

This ongoing maintenance forms part of our commitment to keeping the precinct functional and visually appealing for residents and visitors.

The newly installed bridges in the Sibaya Coastal Forest are in place, marking a big step forward for trail access and connectivity.

Work is still underway to secure the edges and ensure everything is safe, stable, and built to last with our teams paying careful attention to detail as these final touches are completed.
