I'm Xolani Vilakazi, a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology graduate from the University of Johannesburg, majoring in Computer Science and Informatics. I currently work at Absa as a Platform Engineer, where I play a key role in maintaining and optimizing the organization’s technology platforms.
In my day-to-day role, I focus on ensuring system stability, performance, and scalability. This includes monitoring platforms, troubleshooting incidents, automating processes, and supporting deployments across environments. I work closely with development and operations teams to improve system efficiency, implement best practices, and ensure reliable service delivery. My responsibilities also involve scripting, managing infrastructure, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the platform engineering space. ❤️📚
