Statement on the Importance of Marquee Tents and Community Contributions at the August Charity Games.
The August Charity Games (ACG) is a cornerstone event dedicated to the mission of “taking a child to school” by raising school shoes for 14 primary schools in need across the communities of Ntwane, Tambo, Stoplight,Bloemport Phooko, Mpheleng,Moteti and Magakadimeng.
At the heart of this event are the soccer teams, who serve as the primary donors, playing a vital role in driving donations and setting the tone for our collective efforts. Each and every activity at ACG, be it the marathon, bootcamp, netball, business stalls, or the contributions of individual attendees, plays an essential part in raising school shoes thereby ensuring that each participant’s involvement directly supports our cause. We deeply appreciate and thank everyone for their participation, enthusiasm, and unwavering commitment to making this event a resounding success.
The marquee tents remain a critical component of ACG, providing comfort and shelter for attendees who prefer structured seating, while also significantly boosting our fundraising efforts for school shoes. These marquees help manage crowd flow by reducing the need for personal gazebos and stretch tents, creating more space around the ground for additional attendees with their own shelters. While we understand some concerns regarding the marquees, their multifaceted benefits enhancing comfort, supporting fundraising, and improving space management are indispensable to the event’s success. Therefore, marquee tents will remain a feature at ACG and will not be discontinued.
This event is for everyone, uniting our communities in a shared mission to provide as many school shoes as possible to children in need. We are immensely grateful to every individual, team, and community for coming together to support this cause. Let us continue to grow together, strengthening our commitment to “taking a child to school” and ensuring a brighter future for the children of Ntwane, Tambo, Stoplight,Blompoort Phooko, Mpheleng, Moteti and Magakadimeng.

Additionally, we will announce the date for distributing these shoes to schools.
