https://www.backabuddy.co.za/campaign/new-vehicle-for-tin-can-town We are Pro-Life and will never turn our backs on an animal in need. We support the medical care, rescue, and rehabilitation of neglected, abandoned and abused domestic animals in the poor township of Blikkiesdorp. Further to that we work closely with those who have domestic animals on

how to properly look after the animals in their care. We also focus on feeding the human residents in return for their cooperation in giving us access to their animals. We initially started the project from our own funds but very quickly realised how great the need is. Since then, we rely on family, friends and animal-lovers to help us in any which way they can. We are a registered non-profit welfare organisation, NPO number 150-893. If you would like to contribute and help us to continue this valuable work in improving the lives of these animals, our Paypal email address for donations is: [email protected]

🐶 Puppies are cute and all… but DID YOU KNOW?! 👀

One unsterilised female dog can potentially have 60+ puppies during her lifetime! 😳🐾

That’s a LOT of little paws ,and sadly, not every one of those puppies will find a safe and loving home.

This is why STERILISATION SAVES LIVES. ❤️

We’ve been working on something very exciting behind the scenes to help make sterilisation more accessible in our community…

Our Sterrie Project is coming! 👀🐶🐱

We’re not ready to spill all the details just yet… but STAY TUNED! 🐾

🐾 Happy National Dog Day! 🐾

Today, we just want to say THANK YOU. ❤️

Everything we do for the animals of Blikkiesdorp is only possible because of the incredible people who continue to support Tin Can Town.

From food and vet care to sterilisation, kennels, outreach and so much more TCT is completely donor-funded. We simply could not do this work without our amazing donors, sponsors, volunteers and supporters who stand behind us.

Every donation, every share, every bag of food, and every helping hand makes a difference to an animal who needs us. 🐶❤️

So today, on National Dog Day, we celebrate the dogs… but we also celebrate YOU.

Thank you for helping us keep their tails wagging. 🐾

With love,
The Tin Can Town Team ❤️

A little chew. A life-changing difference. 🐾💚

At Tin Can Town, many of the dogs we treat in Blikkiesdorp arrive with severe flea infestations, tick and painful cases of mange. The dusty, sandy environment makes skin problems even worse, leaving many animals in constant discomfort.

Bravecto is a long-acting veterinary treatment that targets fleas and ticks through their nervous system, providing up to 12 weeks of protection with a single chew. We have seen incredible results in managing some of our worst mange cases, helping dogs heal, regrow their coats, and live free from constant itching and suffering.

We would be so grateful if Bravecto could sponsor our outreach with a few treatments to help the animals who need them most.

Please do us one favour: tag in the comments and help us get their attention. 🐶💚

💔 As many of you have been following Flynn’s updates, today we share a heartbreaking goodbye.

Our beloved Champion has sadly succumbed to his injuries.

Champion was one of the sweetest souls, gentle, obedient, and always so eager to love. He carried wounds from a past we could never fully erase, but every day we fought to give him the life he deserved. He was deeply loved, and he knew it.

We take comfort in believing he has been called home, where he is finally free running without fear and without pain.

Run free, beautiful boy. You will always be part of the Tin Can Town family. 🤍🐾

🐾 **MAMA UPDATE ❤️**

We’re happy to share that Mama is recovering at home after having some of her wisdom teeth removed. Thankfully, from what the vets could see, she was incredibly lucky and there was no severe damage. 🙏🏼

For now, Mama needs to stick to soft food while she heals. Her owners are both unemployed and unfortunately cannot afford to buy specialised or store-bought food, so they normally share what they have with her. However, because their food contains spices, Mama refused to eat it leaving us worried about how she would manage during her recovery.

Thankfully, one of our wonderful volunteer’s moms stepped in and offered to cook for Mama. ❤️ Nicosha then delivered a delicious meal of turkey and rice, which Mama absolutely gobbled up! 🐶

There is enough food to keep Mama going for the next few days, and we are so grateful that she will have something nutritious and gentle to eat while she recovers.

A huge thank you to every generous heart who has contributed financially towards Mama’s care. Because of your support, her initial vet bill has been settled in full. ❤️

Mama has a follow-up appointment next Friday, and we will continue to keep you updated on her recovery.

Thank you for helping us care for animals like Mama when their families are struggling. Every contribution, meal and helping hand makes a difference. 🐾❤️

Flynn Update: Part 3 🐾❤️

Our brave boy continues to fight, and we wanted to share the latest from his veterinary team.

The good news is that Flynn’s wounds have healed incredibly well. His drain has been removed, and the wound pocket has reduced by 80%. We’ll continue monitoring his recovery closely.

Further examinations revealed a cranial cruciate ligament rupture (CCLR) in his left hind leg. We are now considering three treatment options: specialist TPLO surgery, an in-house lateral suture procedure, or prolotherapy.

While taking X-rays, vets also discovered the early onset of cardiac disease. His heart measurements are borderline high, which can be an early indicator of congestive heart failure. Although he is stable, Flynn will likely need lifelong heart medication in the near future.

Please keep Flynn in your thoughts as we navigate these next steps. Thank you for standing beside him every step of the way. 🤍
