The IDA Care Foundation was founded and established by Pieter Wessels in 2014, it was registered as a Non-profit Organization and registered as such with the Receiver of Revenue. Because we and our dealer members believe in giving back to Society, and we have to date done a lot of good. It was decided by the board of Trustees that we should change the name to Lightstone Care Foundation in 2021, th

is was done with approval of our dealer members. The Foundation focus on supporting abused Women and Children in the communities that our Company and Dealer Members serve. Currently our two major monthly contributors are the Independent Dealers Association on behalf of it’s members and IDA Risk Management, owned by Lightstone (Pty) Ltd. We do receive Ad-Hoc donations from Lula Sandla and Lightstone. In saying the above Covid had a huge impact on support and donations. Orphanages, Schools for Disabled and Autistic Children, Feeding Schemes and Shelters for abused Women and Children, not limited to this. (On approval by the Trustees.) Can we really make a difference?

To all our potjiekos pioneers – thank you!

Our Mandela Day Potjiekos Charity Event was a sizzling success – thanks to the incredible energy, delicious dishes and generous spirit YOU brought.

Here’s what we served up, together:

135 people fed with our homemade potjiekos
25 people on the street received a boerie roll and cooldrink from staff extras
Countless smiles, proud teams, and one powerful reminder of what we can do when we gather with purpose.


A big shoutout to the best-dressed teams, the boldest recipes and the loudest war cries.
You made Mandela Day a feast of flavour, laughter and generosity.
To everyone who helped make the day such a powerful celebration of Madiba’s life and legacy:

Thank you for cooking with heart.
Thank you for supporting with purpose.
Thank you for reminding us of what it means to be a Lightstone family.

To our Lightstone and extended family,

This Mandela Day, you reminded us of what true generosity looks like.

Thanks to your open hearts and helping hands, we collected and delivered 392 blankets – spreading warmth, comfort and care to some of South Africa’s most vulnerable communities.

With your support, the Lightstone Care Foundation reached six remarkable organisations:

1. Give Them Hope Care Centre
2. El-Shaddai Old Age Home
3. El-Dad Child Care Centre
4. SOS Children’s Village
5. Gelvan Park Frail Aged Home
6. Moeggesukkel – Huis Oasis

These blankets weren’t just donations. They were acts of service – collected with care, delivered with intention and handed over in the warm-hearted spirit of Tata Madiba.

Thank you for being the kind of family who act, give and lead with heart.
