Two of our youth athletes, Elih Cloete and Caleb Koeries, unfortunately missed the South African Triathlon Championships in Benoni today.

They were involved in a head-on collision outside Kroonstad while en route to the championships.

We visited them today, and we are grateful to report that both boys are safe and back home.

Their bicycles were damaged, but that is the least of our concerns. They will also receive the necessary counselling and support to help them process and move through this difficult experience.

HEROES ONE AND ALL | We were blown away by our cyclists’ generosity in donating their pre-loved lids and gear to the Helmet Heroes campaign. What you have done for beneficiaries like the Bayethe Multisport Academy's Butsha Tyali, Xola Williams (chairperson) and Luluvo Mongo will make the world of difference as they safely on our roads.

Bayethe Multi Sport Academy
Race day energy is alive and kicking! 🇿🇦

Today we send our full strength and support to Stera Soyaya, representing us in the Mossel Bay Ironman relay as a runner, and to all Bayethe athletes taking on this incredible challenge.

As uBhuti Sithembiso always reminds us: “Umntu ngumntu ngabantu”, we are because we are.
And today, that spirit of unity, courage, and collective strength carries every stride, every pedal, every stroke.

To the entire Bayethe family on the course, may you race with purpose, finish with pride, and return with stories of victory.

Great success to all our athletes! You’ve already made us proud. 🏊🚴🏃💥

MEET YANELISA “LILLY” — OUR YOUNG QUEEN OF THE WATER!

You know those people who try something once… and then suddenly they’re GREAT at it?

Yeah. That’s Lilly. 😄

She jumped into triathlon at 12 years old, literally just to see what would happen, no big plan, no expectations. And boom… the sport grabbed her heart and refused to let go.

From learning the basics to crossing finish lines she once thought were “for other people,” Lilly has grown into a confident, fierce, 18-year-old athlete who just keeps levelling up.

Because Lilly doesn’t do “small energy.”

If she’s going to push herself, she wants it to be on a stage the whole world recognises.

“Ironman is basically the Beyoncé of endurance racing, everyone knows the name!” she laughs.

She’s taking on the swim leg because the water is her power zone. It’s where she feels most alive, most confident, and most in control. Diving into this challenge feels a little wild, a little surreal… but exactly right.

💪 What triathlon has taught her:
• How to push through days when everything feels heavy
• How to stay disciplined even when motivation is missing
• How strong her mind AND body actually are
• How sport can literally be therapy
• And most importantly, how beautiful community can be — people who lift you, cheer for you, and show up when it counts

✨ Why she keeps doing it:
The challenge.
The growth.
The friendships.
The quiet pride of knowing you’re becoming someone your younger self would be proud of.

She does triathlon because it shapes her, strengthens her, and keeps her anchored.

Lilly’s message to every athlete hitting that Ironman start line:
“Hey fam, if you’re here, you’ve already won. Making it to the start line is a victory many people never get to experience. Trust your training, breathe, take it all in, and enjoy the madness of it all. Whether you’re chasing a PB or just aiming to finish, make this moment yours. Go write a story you’ll be proud to tell.”

BAYETHE MULTI SPORT ACADEMY | MOSSEL BAY WEEKEND 🔥

What began as a one-man mission in 2019, when Will took on Ironman East London alone, has grown into a powerful movement that is reshaping the face of triathlon in the Eastern Cape, Western Cape, and South Africa as a whole. Today, that journey is Bayethe Multi Sport Academy. 🇿🇦🏊🚴🏾🏃

This weekend, our Founder and Chairman, Will, leads 17 Bayethe athletes into the waters of ISUZU Ironman Mossel Bay, carrying with them a spirit built on discipline, resilience and the belief that every athlete who starts a triathlon deserves to finish.

A belief born from his own DNF in East London, a moment he transformed into purpose, leadership and excellence.

What many may not know is that Mossel Bay’s Ironman legacy has Will’s fingerprints on it. He championed the idea, encouraged the LED Manager to engage Ironman South Africa, and helped showcase the economic and tourism potential of this vibrant Western Cape town. Today, Mossel Bay stands proudly on the Ironman map.

From Race2Hermanus to Mossel Bay, from local road races to international podiums, Will’s leadership has produced Youth Champs, Duathlon stars, Triathlon champions, and age-group podium finishers, including podium 2 at the Mauritius Triathlon.

And this is just the beginning.

2026 and beyond, Bayethe is ready. More athletes. More champions. More stories written in water, sweat, and heart.

Bayethe! Let’s conquer Mossel Bay 🏅

Bayethe Multi Sport Academy proudly celebrates Cario-Lee Mann! 🚴‍♂️🔥

This year, Cario-Lee returns to the Isuzu Ironman stage on the bike only, recovering from a foot operation but refusing to let anything dim his spirit.

In 2024, he conquered the full Ironman. This year, he shows us once again that the journey is bigger than the setback.

For Cario-Lee, Ironman is more than a race, it’s a family. A family that connects, helps, supports and loves.

His message to all of us is powerful:
Challenge yourself. Do better every day. Lead by example. And prioritise your mental health.

We stand with you, brother. Let’s keep proving that anything in life is possible when community lifts you and courage leads you.

🔥 Bayethe Multi Sport | The Power of the Mind, The Spirit of the Bay 🔥

Meet Lance, a man whose story is a living reminder that the human spirit knows no limits. 🙌🏽 After a life-changing accident left him in a wheelchair with spinal damage and a hip replacement, his world could have ended there. But instead, it began again, in the water. 🌊

In the open ocean, gravity let go. Stroke by stroke, Lance rebuilt himself, turning pain into purpose and fear into fuel. When he heard about the ISUZU Ironman 70.3 Mossel Bay, a stubborn dream took hold, to prove that the greatest race is the one fought in the mind.

“My body was written off,” he says, “but my mind refused to sign the papers.”

Now, as part of the Ironman relay, Lance stands as living proof that every finish line begins with belief, and that the biggest barriers are the ones we break in our own thinking.

Follow his incredible journey at
Because your current limitation is not your final destination. The comeback belongs to us all. 🏊🏽‍♂️🔥

Let’s cheer him on, Bayethe family! Drop a 💪🏽 or ❤️‍🔥 below to celebrate the unstoppable and Lance’s journey from resilience to victory.

🔥 Bayethe Multi Sport | The Spirit of the Valley Rises! 🔥

From the heart of Addo, our very own Xola Williams, Chairman of Bayethe Eastern Cape, is gearing up for the ISUZU Ironman 70.3 Mossel Bay this Sunday, 16 November! 🏊🏽‍♂️🚴🏽‍♂️🏃🏽‍♂️

Xola’s journey is more than just about crossing the finish line, it’s about rewriting the story of what’s possible for young people in rural communities, who dare to dream.

Growing up where football ruled, he’s now building a new dream, developing triathletes from the Sundays River Municipality, proving that greatness can rise from even the most overlooked corners.

With faith, perseverance, and community behind him, from St John’s Anglican Church in Nelson Mandela Bay to the Sarah Baartman Municipality, Xola is shaping a legacy that will inspire a generation.

Chair Xola had this message for all those lining up in Mossel Bay this coming weekend, “To every athlete taking on Mossel Bay, local or international, thank you for bringing your energy, your passion, and your spirit to our shores. Together, we race not just for medals, but for meaning”.

Let’s go, Bayethe family! Drop a 🔥 or 🙌🏽 in the comments to cheer on and celebrate the unstoppable !

From Backyard Laps to the Isuzu Ironman Starting Line! 💪🏽🏊‍♂️🚴🏃‍♂️

This Sunday, 16 November 2025, all eyes turn to Mossel Bay, South Africa, as we cheer on our very own JC (Jay-Sea) a proud CP athlete whose journey defines what it means to rise beyond limits.

At just 28, JC has lived with cerebral palsy since he was two days old, but nothing has stopped him from rewriting what’s possible. He started running during lockdown in 2020, doing 50-metre laps in the backyard while dodging playful dogs. Step by step, block by block, he pushed further, from backyard runs to the Outeniqua Mountains, MUT trails, and now to the Isuzu Ironman Mossel Bay.

🏅 JC’s message to us all:

“Whatever your challenges, physical or otherwise, everything is possible with the right mindset and willpower. Surround yourself with people who genuinely support you, and keep moving forward.”

Let’s unite behind JC as he takes on the Isuzu Ironman Mossel Bay, South Africa, this weekend, proving that courage, purpose, and heart are stronger than any obstacle.
