Today’s clean-up was wild! 🌬️

Strong winds made it a real treasure hunt - we pulled out so many plastics, straws, and some strange new items hidden in the sand.

But the biggest surprise? 🐞 Hundreds of ladybirds lined up along the shoreline! It had us all talking - why were they there? Migration? The wind?

Nature always has something to teach us.

More than just a clean-up. 💚🌊

This Saturday we brought together 90 incredible people consisting of community members, university students, young professionals & learners all united for one purpose: protecting our coastline.

Together we collected:
🗑️ 107.50 kg of waste
👊 30 bags of litter removed

International Marine Protected Areas (MPA) Day was insightful. Organized by Youth4MPAs, in collaboration with the Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation and Wild Trust

The day's highlight was a keynote from Dr. Philile Mbatha. The day went to engaging different stakeholders in response to a marine challenge statement to a panel discussion on MPAs - their objectives and history. And various presentations on marine activities and the different ways to get involved in ocean conservation.

We are excited to gain insight on a new tool to advance our passion for ocean conservation.

Morning and a Happy Marine Protected Areas (MPA) Day to all! 💃🏿

We went from serving our 67 minutes on Mandela Day and are now gearing up to experience MPA Day with Youth4MPAs at the Two Oceans Aquarium this morning 😊
