Happy International Older Persons Day!

Today we celebrate the incredible wisdom, love, and resilience of our elders, who serve as the foundation of our families and communities.

Take a moment today to call, visit or check in on an elderly person in your life.

A simple conversation or a short visit can mean the world to someone who might be feeling a little lonely.

Members of the Cape Town Lions Club spent a wonderful morning with the staff and residents of the Elizabeth Roos Home in Cape Town C*D, handing over Fidget Mats to their residents.
This project was done as part of the District 410W Mental Health and Well-Being Initiative.
The Fidget Mats are specifically designed portable fabric mats equipped with various textures, zippers, buttons and ribbons. Keys and beads and even pieces of fur can be used.
These mats provide soothing tactile stimulation that helps to reduce anxiety, improve focus and keeps hands busy.
To add an extra blessing, we were able to donate lovely tablecloths for their dining room.
A highlight of our visit was being blessed with two handmade Thank You cards, crafted by the residents themselves.
Thank you to the staff for the warm welcome and we look forward to many more visits.
Join our team and help to spread the love!

Today marks a critical nationwide initiative where everyone is asked to wear black in solidarity with women in our beautiful country.
The Cape Town Lions Club supports this initiative and hopes that it will bring more awareness to the devastating scourge of Gender Based Violence and femicide.
Let's stand together.
Let's be kind.
