We invite our LuminAfrica community to join us in prayer for the Bible Translation movement across South Africa. Pray for translators, facilitators, churches, communities, and partners who faithfully labour so that God’s Word may speak clearly into every heart and language.

At Christmas, we remember that God chose to enter the world quietly.
Not with force or fanfare, but through a child.
Not in a language of power, but in the language of love.

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.
And ever since that holy night, light has travelled through voices, stories, and languages, finding its way into human hearts.

At LuminAfrica, this season reminds us why language matters.
Because when God speaks in a language people understand, hope takes root.
Dignity is restored.
Faith becomes personal.
And light reaches places long kept in shadow.

As we celebrate the birth of Christ, we give thanks for every translator, organisation, donor, prayer partner, and community who walks this road with us. Together, we are part of a greater story. One where God’s Word continues to cross borders, cultures, and generations.

A Joyful Celebration of God’s Word 🇲🇿✨

A wave of gratitude and joy swept through Maputo, Mozambique, on 15 October 2025, as Biblica celebrated the long-awaited dedication of the New Testament in Mozambican Portuguese.

It was a day of song, prayer, and thanksgiving — a divine milestone marking the moment when God’s Word came alive in the heart language of the Mozambican people.

Representing LuminAfrica were Michelle Botha and Carien Kotzé (Steering Committee member and Director of Biblica), who joined hands with senior government leaders — a powerful picture of faith and community walking together.

Through years of faithful labour, Biblica and the Bible Society of Mozambique have brought this sacred translation to life — enabling the Word to renew hope, guide hearts, and transform communities.

As choirs sang, the Reach For Life youth danced, and a shared meal united all in laughter and thanksgiving, it was clear: this moment marked not just the end of a translation, but the beginning of new life through God’s Word.

💛 When hearts align with His purpose, miracles unfold — and His Word continues to reach the ends of the earth.

November is appraoching and it’s easy to get caught up in the rush of deadlines, demands and daily life. But in the midst of it all, may we pause to remember the heart of the Gospel — the redeeming love of Jesus Christ, who came to bring light to a weary world. ✨

At LuminAfrica, this truth fuels our mission every day — to help every person in Southern Africa encounter God’s Word in their own heart language. Because His story of hope belongs to every tongue, tribe and nation.

As you press through this final stretch of the year, may you find renewed strength and peace in His promise: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5)
