We are hiring

Social Worker Position Available

Autism Western Cape is seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our team in supporting individuals, families, and caregivers impacted by autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Requirements:
Bachelor of Social Work degree
Valid driver’s licence
Current registration with SACSSP (2026–2027)
Strong passion for community-based support and advocacy
1-2 years’ experience

Key Responsibilities:
Provide psychosocial support and counselling to individuals, families, and caregivers affected by ASD
Promote public awareness and acceptance of individuals on the autism spectrum through events, presentations, and media engagements (radio and television)
Advocate for children and adolescents on the autism spectrum, including assisting with grant applications and risk-related reporting
Support clients via email, telephone, Facebook, and organisational cellphone
Conduct training sessions and distribute booster boxes
Compile reports, referrals, and follow-ups, including reporting to relevant authorities when required
Complete monthly and annual reports as requested by the Director
Maintain accurate administrative records and case/client files
Provide post-diagnosis support and counselling at state hospitals (Red Cross, Lentegeur, and Tygerberg Hospitals)
Conduct home visits to support families in their communities and living environments
Establish and facilitate parent support groups, including training group leaders
Assist clients in obtaining legal documentation for government grants and financial aid

Salary:
💰 R192,000 per annum
