It is very encouraging to see the tides slowly start to turn in a better direction for our rivers and water bodies. A healthy environment for all is dependent on us working together for change. Well done to all involved!

Did you know Zandvlei is fed by a whole network of rivers and streams from across the southern suburbs?
The Keysers, Westlake, Sand, Diep, and Langevlei rivers all make their way down from the surrounding mountains, joined by smaller streams like the Grootboschkloof, Prinskasteel, and Spaanschemat. The vlei is part of a water ecosystem that relies on the health of all these interconnected water systems in order to survive and flourish.

Keeping plastics out of our waterways and eventually our oceans is vitally important. Plastic pollution harms marine life, disrupts ecosystems, and can even enter the human food chain. By reducing single-use plastics and improving waste management, we can protect both the environment and our own health.
