As we anticipate the blessed month of Rabiul Awwal, let us express our love and gratitude by bringing joy to those who need it most.

This Mawlid, Khidmah Foundation South Africa, in partnership with IMASA Pediatric Outreach, will be distributing gifts and essential items to children during their health outreach.

🥣 Mandela Month Soup Kitchen | Khidmah Foundation South Africa 🇿🇦

In honour of Mandela Day, Khidmah Foundation South Africa hosted our annual Mandela Month Soup Kitchen this past week.

Alhamdulillah, we prepared and distributed 201 meals (67 × 3, inspired by the 67 minutes of service associated with Nelson Mandela's legacy). Each meal consisted of a warm punnet of soup, a bread pack and a packet of crisps.

These meals were distributed to individuals experiencing homelessness and families living in informal settlements across the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town.

A heartfelt thank you to every person who donated, sponsored ingredients, contributed financially, packed meals, and volunteered their time. Your generosity and willingness to serve made this initiative possible.

Together, we care. Together, we empower. 💙

In collaboration with Islamic Medical Association of South Africa, Khidmah Foundation South Africa prepared and distributed 80 care packs this Youth Day to a female place of safety caring for vulnerable adolescents — including teens awaiting court appearances and girls removed from harmful home environments.

Each pack included hygiene essentials, sanitary pads, socks, and a notebook with a pen to encourage healing through self-expression and journaling. 🌸

A small act of care can restore dignity, inspire hope, and remind someone that they are not forgotten.

A special thank you to SPAR Grassy Park for their generous contribution towards making this campaign possible. 🤍

Our Empowerment Day at St George’s Home for Girls with 33 amazing young girls was filled with energy, excitement and smiles all around 🤍

The self-defence session led by Ashihara Karate International, under the guidance of Kaicho Hoosain Narker, had the girls fully engaged — participating eagerly, asking questions, and many even showing interest in joining the karate club.

We ended off the day on a high note with supper for everyone, sharing burgers, chips and drinks together 🍔✨

Moments like these remind us that empowerment starts with opportunity, support and a little bit of fun. Thank you to everyone who made this possible.

Khidmah Foundation SA was honoured to be part of the paediatric outreach, where we distributed care packs to the children in attendance — each one thoughtfully put together with essential hygiene items to restore dignity, promote good health, and build confidence in young hearts. For many of these children, something as simple as a toothbrush or facecloth becomes a reminder that they are seen, valued, and cared for.

This Ramadhan, your support allowed us to make a meaningful impact across multiple communities — from boeber distribution in Riversonderend, to providing iftaar in Madinah, supporting Muslim inmates at Voorberg Prison, hosting a falooda distribution during the Badr programme, and carrying out food distributions and a heartfelt Hijab Drive in Langa. Alongside this, we served hundreds through our iftaars and relief efforts.

Ramadhan may be over, but the spirit of giving continues. Keep your sadaqah flowing 🤍
