The Briar Foundation NPC / NPO, is a non-profit company based in Cape Town, South Africa. Our aims are to provide impactful youth entrepreneur workshops, mentorship programs, and skills development structures to the youth in our community. We are committed to fostering leadership skills and self-confidence amongst the youth of South Africa, through Entrepreneurial Awareness.

The Briar Foundation, run by Irene Oxley, works with high school pupils to develop entrepreneurial thinking and confidence.
“Unemployment is a bleak reality,” Ms Oxley said, adding that jobs are shrinking, and competition is fierce.
"We must equip young people to think differently.”
Through annual workshops and youth entrepreneur showcases, the foundation reaches around
7 500 learners each year.
“Entrepreneurial thinking doesn’t just prepare you to start a business - it prepares you to survive and thrive,” she said.
Ms Oxley believes entrepreneurship should be included in the national school curriculum and that the government must work more closely with non-profits already doing the groundwork.

Two of our participating educational institutions were presented with Briar certificates as a note of thanks for allowing their learners to attend our workshops and Youth Entrepreneur Showcase. Both schools had winning entries!

As we are an NPO we rely on donations and CSR/CSI initiatives Donations are most welcome too.
