In honour of World Homeless Day

What is homelessness and what do you choose to see?
Homeless” describes a housing circumstance, but it can become a label that overshadows someone’s identity.

A person can be without housing and still have family, community, culture, history, skills and a strong sense of belonging.

When we call someone homeless, are we describing where they live, or are we allowing their circumstances to define who they are?

Double tap if any of this feels familiar.

Homelessness does not always begin with one dramatic moment. Sometimes it starts with a missed payment, a lost job, a difficult season, debt, mental health struggles, or simply needing help.

The circumstances may look different, but many of them are experiences more people recognise than we realise.

At The Humanity Hub, we believe homelessness is not an identity — and that with the right support, people can rebuild.

If you believe in second chances, help make one possible.
