Brick Club South Africa

Brick Club South Africa Brick Club SA is a donation-powered initiative bringing joy and creativity to kids with genuine LEGO® bricks and minifigures.

By partnering with community libraries, often the heartbeat of communities we create free and inclusive spaces for play. Brick Club South Africa is a donation-powered initiative that brings creativity, connection, and joy to children and teens aged 0 to 17 using genuine LEGO bricks and minifigures. We partner with public libraries and early childhood centres to create free and inclusive building s

paces where kids can explore, collaborate, and feel a sense of belonging. There is no teaching, no testing, and no pressure to perform. Just bricks, imagination, and the chance to connect. Our mission is to inspire creativity and promote sustainability by repurposing donated bricks and supporting child-led building experiences in under-resourced communities. We imagine a future where every community has access to playful connection, where creativity is nurtured, and where the building blocks of confidence are within reach for all children. Founded by SAFOLs and The Blockery, Brick Club SA is a grassroots effort powered by volunteers and donations. We are not affiliated with, endorsed, or sponsored by the LEGO Group. All LEGO trademarks and logos are the property of the LEGO Group. We use genuine LEGO products to spark imagination and bring communities together. First Meeting August 24 2024

Who Says You're Ever Too Old to Play? 🧱☕🍰

Some say LEGO®️ is just for children... we couldn't disagree more! 😊

This Mandela Day, Brick Club South Africa was privileged to partner with the Friends of Nazareth and Nazareth Care Africa for a joyful 67 Minutes of Play, Coffee & Conversation, hosted by Nazareth Care CEO Henco Walker and René Walker.

Residents, staff, volunteers and guests gathered around tables filled with colourful bricks, coffee and cake and before long, the room was buzzing with laughter, stories and creativity. It wasn't about building the tallest tower or the perfect masterpiece. It was about spending time together, making memories and enjoying each other's company.

Because here's the truth...

Play has no age limit. ❤️

A handful of LEGO®️ bricks has an amazing way of unlocking smiles, sparking conversations and bringing out the child in all of us.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this beautiful morning possible—especially the wonderful residents who reminded us that joy, curiosity and imagination never grow old.

After all... growing older is inevitable, growing up is optional! 😄🧱

Today, we’re looking back on a wonderful visit from Brick Club South Africa at Nazareth House Cape Town.

Henco Walker, CEO of Nazareth Care, and Ame Landman, Regional Wellness Coordinator, joined Brent from Care for Education to experience Brick Club in action. The visit provided a firsthand glimpse into the power of play-based learning, where children are given genuine LEGO® elements, the freedom to create, and a supportive environment in which to thrive.

The children were fully engaged—focused, imaginative, and eager to build—while Club Leaders provided guidance and encouragement where needed. It was inspiring to witness how a simple brick can unlock creativity, confidence, problem-solving skills, and meaningful social interaction.

The visit also highlighted the strong shared vision between Brick Club South Africa, Nazareth Care, and Care for Education. Together, the organisations are exploring opportunities to expand Brick Club sessions within Nazareth Care facilities, supported by training in the Six Bricks methodology. This exciting collaboration marks just the beginning of what promises to be a meaningful and impactful partnership.

ℹ **How You Can Help**
Every donation helps us create activity boxes that promote cognitive stimulation, strengthen fine motor skills, and encourage creative expression for those in our care. We warmly invite our Friends of Nazareth to donate pre-loved LEGO® sets or loose bricks at any of our five Nazareth Houses in Cape Town, Pretoria, Durban, Port Elizabeth, and Harare.

🙏 **Donor Appreciation Raffle**
As a token of our gratitude, every donor will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a special prize. The more you donate, the more entries you'll receive—and the greater your chance of winning.
