Celebrating World Water Week 2026: Water for People and Progress

This week marks World Water Week (23-27 August), and this year's theme reminds us that water isn't just about survival, it's about community, connection, and a just future for all.

At Jungle Theatre Company, we've always believed that storytelling can inspire real change. One of our shows, River of Life, brings this message to life through the journey of Princess Mamlambo, who must save her village's river from pollution and disconnection. It's an African folktale about a community that takes its precious water for granted, until it's almost too late.

Today we were honoured to be part of the Peninsula School Feeding Association (PSFA) Mandela Day Corporate Sandwich Making Challenge, in partnership with Fine Music Radio Inc. (FMR) at Artscape

As part of our 67-minute contribution, we brought the vibe for all the volunteers through African music, keeping the beat going with our djembe drums, marimba, and the beautiful voices of our artists. Most importantly, we also rolled up our sleeves and took part in the sandwich preparations!
