πŸ”₯ TODAY SOUTH AFRICA SHUT DOWN β€” AND WE REFUSED TO BE SILENT! πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦πŸ’œ

Uniq***r Students Solidarity (USS) stood firmly with Women for Change as South Africans across the country participated in the

TODAY, 21 November 2025 β€” a national standstill against gender-based violence, femicide, and systemic oppression.

🟣 WE DEMANDED:

GBV to be declared a National Disaster β€” immediately.

Justice for victims, funding and protection for survivors, and real accountability from our leaders.

An end to corrective r**e, q***rphobia, misogyny, and all gendered violence.

πŸ’œ THANK YOU to students, staff, and institutions nationwide β€” from UCT, Wits, UP, NMU, DUT, TVET colleges, and many more β€” who joined the shutdown in solidarity.

To Women for Change: we stand with you.

To government leaders: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

πŸ•ŠοΈ In honour of Simon Nkoli as the theme for 2025 of USSβ€” . The struggle continues.

Today, we dressed in black, lay down at and raised our voices across campuses and communities β€” no marches, just powerful, peaceful disruption of attention.

β€œWithout women, South Africa stops.”
