We're launching this just in time for one of the most important seasons of our year.

This December, help us keep Fraserburg's children fed.

For many children in Fraserburg, school meals and the local soup kitchen are their main source of food. When schools close for the December/January holidays, that support closes with them. In the long, hot Karoo summer, many children go without.

That's why we're starting our Holiday Food Drive now, so the community kitchen in Fraserburg stays stocked right through the break.

How you can help:
🍎 Louise, our local dietician, oversees our holiday relief fund. Let us support her in supporting the kids. Financial contributions go toward procuring food for distribution, coordinated with the kids.

The meaning behind a beanie 🧶💛

For us, these beanies are more than just colourful winter warmers. They are little reminders of what can happen when people come together.

752 beanies made their way to Fraserburg, and each one helped bring a bit of warmth to a child this winter.

A big thank you to everyone who knitted, donated, supported, packed, delivered, and helped make our first Beanie Drive of the year possible.

This is why we go💛

Fraserburg is a town filled with wonderful people, strong families, inspiring stories, and children with the brightest smiles. But it is also a community where the need is very real.

Driving through the town is a powerful reminder of why initiatives such as our Beanie Drive, Apple Run, stationery drives, and other outreach projects are so important.

These drives are about far more than handing out items—they are about showing up, sharing kindness, providing warmth, and supporting children in ways that can make a lasting difference.

Every beanie, every scarf, every apple, every school supply, and every donation contributes to something bigger.

Be The Good is proud to support the Fraserburg Logan Toneelfees, a powerful celebration of youth theatre, creativity, storytelling, and talent in the heart of the Karoo.

For decades, this festival has given learners from across South Africa the opportunity to perform, grow, and receive valuable feedback on stage, while keeping theatre accessible and encouraging young talent.

Initiatives like our Beanie Drive are made possible by the incredible people who work tirelessly behind the scenes and care deeply for their learners. 🫶

During our visit to Malherbe-Human Primary School in Fraserburg, it was a pleasure to spend time with the teachers and staff, receive updates on the school and learners, and witness the positive impact our various drives continue to have.

Their dedication, compassion, and commitment to the children shine through in everything they do, creating an environment where learners feel supported, valued, and encouraged to thrive.

What a fantastic start to the day!

We spent the morning handing out colourful, hand-made beanies and scarves to the learners at Human Malherbe School in Fraserburg.🧶💛🧶

Our morning was made extra special as we spent time with the Grade R learners, assisting each child in choosing a beanie and matching scarf that they loved, made by tannie Bonita Van Antwerpen.

Witnessing their faces light up as they receive something warm, and made with love, was truly heartwarming! Throughout the day, colourful beanies of every shape and size were distributed to the remaining learners.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed, participated and supported our wonderful and memorable first Beanie Drive for the year! Your kindness helped create warm little heads, big smiles, and very happy hearts🫶⭐️

Apple Run Part 7 🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏🍏

2 days. 2 schools. 1 community✅

We didn’t just deliver goods, we delivered hope🫶

Over the course of our Apple Run in March, we were able to deliver:

🍎56 boxes of apples�
📚 6 big boxes of stationery kits�
🪥 307 toothbrushes and toothpaste�
🌸 36 little boxes of sanitary products�
👕 Clothes and school uniforms

Every item delivered represents the kindness of someone who chose to give, support, and be part of something good.
