Christel House International officially releases new documentary, From Classrooms to Life

Created in partnership with Moirai Films, the film tells the powerful story of Christel House through the voices of students, graduates, staff, and communities across the globe. It goes beyond education to show the long-term, holistic support that enables young people to achieve real socio-economic mobility and create lasting change for themselves, their families, and future generations.

As Christel House South Africa celebrates 25 years of impact, this documentary is a meaningful reminder of the work happening locally and across our global network.

We are especially proud that our teachers, leaders, and learners are featured in the film, helping bring our story to life on an international stage.

Admissions update - Grade RR and Grade 8 2027

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who applied for admission to Christel House South Africa for 2027. We received over 1600 applications for both Grade RR and Grade 8, and we are incredibly grateful for the trust that so many families have placed in our school.

We also want to thank our applicants and families for their patience and understanding as our Admissions Team works diligently through each application to ensure that every family receives fair and careful consideration.

Grade RR Admissions (2027)
Our team is currently conducting economic needs assessments for shortlisted Grade RR applicants.
If you have not heard from us by 12 June 2026, please consider your application unsuccessful.

Grade 8 Admissions (2027)
Applications for Grade 8 have now officially closed, and our Admissions Team is currently reviewing applications and shortlisting candidates who will proceed to the next stage of the process. If you have not received feedback after 1 July 2026, please consider your application unsuccessful. Please note that communication will also be sent to applicants regarding the outcome of the process.

Helping children thrive in a digital world

Technology plays an important role in our students’ lives, supporting learning, creativity, and connection. However, as children grow up in an increasingly digital world, it is essential that we help them build healthy, balanced relationships with technology that support their focus, wellbeing, and development.

Our latest Social Services Parent Workbook explores how screen time can impact children at different stages of development. Please refer to the graphic above to see how each developmental stage is uniquely affected.

Across all age groups, we are seeing how constant digital stimulation can affect attention, focus, and the ability to engage in deep learning. However, the goal is not to remove technology, but to find balance.

The workbook encourages practical strategies for families, including:
• Setting clear and consistent boundaries around device use
• Creating device-free times for study, rest, and family connection
• Encouraging reading, physical activity, and offline hobbies
• Keeping devices out of bedrooms at night
• Having ongoing conversations about responsible and mindful tech use

These small, consistent actions help children build self-awareness, discipline, and healthier habits that support both their academic success and overall wellbeing.
We encourage all parents and guardians to implement these practical strategies and continue these important conversations at home as we guide our students to thrive in a connected world.
