Right now, families in our community are going to bed hungry.

Not because they don’t want to work.
Not because they aren’t trying.
But because this storm has taken away electricity, income, transport, and in many cases — hope for the next few days.

Mothers are trying to warm children with blankets instead of meals.
Fathers who survive on daily piece jobs have had no work.
Homes are sitting cold, dark, and without food on the table.

And the requests for help are pouring in.

At Humanity Heal Foundation NPC, we are trying to cook warm chicken and veggie soup for families who simply need help getting through the next day or three.

For around R450, we can feed 20 families with: 🥣 A wholesome tub of soup and 🍞 A loaf of bread for each family

But we cannot do this alone.

We urgently need:

• Dry soup mix
• Chicken breasts
• Soup veggies
• Cream of chicken soup powder
• Bread
• Or any financial donation

This is not about luxury.
This is about survival.
About dignity.
About making sure someone’s child has something warm tonight.

Please — if you can help, now is the time.

✨ FOUNDATION UPDATE | FROM THE HEART ✨

It’s been a while since I’ve shared an update… not because the work stopped — but because life reminded me that even those who pour into others sometimes need to pause and heal too.

The truth is… my health hasn’t been the best, and I’ve had to take time to focus on that. But even in the quiet moments, the work never left my heart. And neither did the people we serve. ❤️

And wow… what a journey it’s been.

👨‍👩‍👧 THE FAMILY OF 3

Remember the young family living in their car with a newborn in January?

Today… their baby girl is turning 4 months old 🍼

Dad stepped up in a way that truly humbles you. He secured an even better job and is showing up for his family every single day — present, committed, and determined.

Now we’re at the next step… helping mom find her feet again. Employment, opportunity, growth — her moment is coming. 🙏

⭐ ADRIAAN BOOYSEN

What a story of resilience.

Adriaan has taken on a few jobs, with another opportunity pending in Bloubergstrand. But more than that… we are witnessing growth. Real growth.

A man learning, pushing forward, building something better for himself.

And that… is the real win.

💔 SUHAIL & AYESHA

Just when things were starting to move… life hit hard.

Three weeks ago, an incident wiped out everything — their stock, their equipment, their income.

And yet… they didn’t give up.

Their branded caps and t-shirts have arrived — and they look incredible 🔥
A fresh start. A new beginning.

But they cannot do it alone.

We are asking from the heart —
If you have a secondhand cooler box or a crate (with or without wheels), please consider donating.

We are also trying to raise R450 to restock their mobile snack shop.
Switch and chips were the best sellers — small things that make a big difference.

🌿 UPDATE ON MARGARET 🌿

Many of you have been asking about Margaret…

We’ve met with DSD and CoCT Social Development, and we are now putting wheels in motion to have Margaret placed in a home where she can receive the care and dignity she deserves.

But these processes take time.

Until then, we will not step away.

We will continue to monitor her, spend time with her, talk to her, and encourage her. A social worker is scheduled to visit her within the next week or so.

This is not a quick fix… but it is movement. 🤍

🥶 WINTER IS HERE 🥶

And with it comes a reality we cannot ignore.

Cold nights. Empty cupboards.
Children going to bed hungry.
Elderly trying to survive without warmth.

We are launching our Winter Drive — collecting blankets, clothing, and non-perishable food to stock our pantry so we can respond when the need comes… because it always does — often before payday.

💔 THE HARD TRUTH

We have been involved in GBV cases between Table View and Melkbosstrand.

There are stories we cannot share.
Pain we cannot put into words.

But what we can say is this —
It is happening. It is real. And it is closer than most people think.

🤍 BECOME A MONTHLY PARTNER

Here’s where you come in.

Every R50 a month can make a difference.

We are incredibly proud to say that we still only have our monthly bank fee as overheads. That means every single cent you give goes directly where it’s needed most — helping those in need and uplifting those living in poverty to build better lives.

But we cannot do this alone.

We need you.

📌 We are a registered PBO Section 18A organisation, which means your donations are tax deductible.

This work is not glamorous.
It is not always loud.
And it is definitely not easy.

But it is necessary.

And every life we touch… every small victory… every moment of hope restored… reminds us why we keep going.

If you’ve ever wondered whether your contribution matters — this is your answer:

It does. More than you know.

Let’s keep showing up. Together.
Let’s keep choosing humanity.

UPDATE: MARGARET GIBSON 💔

On Monday, our community once again raised concerns about Margaret’s deteriorating condition. I went to see her opposite The Birkenhead, where she allowed me to clean and treat her wounds. In that moment, there was a glimpse of hope — Margaret agreed to see a private doctor the following day.

On Tuesday morning, I arrived to take her to Dr Navaas van der Schyff at Healthfort Milnerton. Sadly, Margaret was not in a good space. She was distressed, aggressive, and not herself — throwing items, swearing, and refusing to go. Not wanting to cause her further distress, I made the difficult decision to step back.

I then contacted the City of Cape Town Social Development Department, who responded and undertook to send a team to assist with admitting Margaret under a Form 4 for observation.

This morning, a joint effort by COCT Social Development, Law Enforcement, the Displaced Persons Unit, and myself turned into nearly two hours of trying — calmly and compassionately — to get Margaret the help she so desperately needs.

But heartbreakingly, we were unsuccessful.

Margaret boarded a MyCiTi T03 and evaded admission. In that moment, we lost her.

However, based on her patterns and behaviour, I do believe Margaret will return to Melkbosstrand. It is very likely that she fled out of distress and fear in that moment. We will be actively monitoring for her return and will be ready to act once she is located again and we have our resources ready again.

This is devastating. No one deserves to live like this. No elderly person should be left to suffer on our streets, battling both physical pain and what is clearly a deeper struggle.

But please know this — we are not giving up on Margaret.

We are escalating this matter and will now be working closely with all possible role players, including the Provincial Department of Social Development and Minister Provincial Minister Jaco Londt and the City of Cape Town Social Development Division, to ensure that Margaret receives the care, protection, and dignity she deserves.

This is no longer just a concern — it is an urgent call for intervention.

If anyone sees Margaret please don't panic, we wil try again and again if needed!

Let’s stand together as a community. Our elderly matter. Their lives matter. And Margaret matters. ❤️

✨ HOPE SNACK SHOP – A NEW BEGINNING ✨

Something beautiful is happening in our community… and it starts with hope 💛

Over the past week, we sat down with three familiar faces from our Melkbossstrand community—individuals many of you have seen over time. They’ve faced tough circumstances, often sleeping rough, doing recycling, watching cars, and taking on any odd jobs they can find just to get by.

But this week… we chose change.

Together, we brainstormed, we believed, and we took action. And just like that, Hope Snack Shop was born 🛍️

With the help of a few donations and a lot of heart, we were able to get them started with:

✔️ A cooler box
✔️ A crate
✔️ Starter stock (cold drinks, water, sweets, chips & biscuits)

They are now running their very own mobile tuck shop, focusing on high-traffic areas—especially when other shops are closed. This is more than just selling snacks… this is about restoring dignity, creating opportunity, and building a future 🙌

We are also in the process of assisting them with obtaining their hawkers license so they can operate fully and legally.

💛 HOW YOU CAN HELP:
When you see them:
👉 Smile
👉 Say hello
👉 Support their small business

Let’s show them what community truly means.

This initiative forms part of our “Get Up & Go Business Development Project”—a movement focused on equipping, mentoring and uplifting individuals towards sustainable income and independence.

📢 WE ARE CALLING ON OUR COMMUNITY:

We are currently looking for:
🔒 A lockable money box
🛒 A trolley with wheels to safely transport their setup

✨ A MOM DOING HER BEST… AND A COMMUNITY THAT CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE ✨
Some stories don’t need exaggeration… because they are real, raw, and happening right now.

We recently visited a brave mom from Atlantis. A single mother, raising her pre-teen son on her own, working full-time in Table View — showing up every single day, doing everything she can to build a better life for her child.

But some months… the month is just longer than the pay.

Many of us know that feeling.
Skipping breakfast so your child can eat.
Stretching meals.
Choosing between electricity or groceries.

This is not a story of laziness.
This is a story of resilience.

Despite everything — past unemployment, debt she is responsibly paying back, and no support from the child’s father — this mom is still standing.

Still fighting. Still showing up.

There are no luxuries in this home. Only determination.

💛 And that’s why we stepped in.

We were able to provide a food parcel and electricity as they had already run out, to help them get through the next few days… but we know it’s not enough. Not yet.

The beautiful part?

This mom is not asking for handouts — she is ready to rise.

We are currently working with her to start a side hustle, because as a foundation, we believe in more than just giving —
👉 we believe in teaching someone how to fish.

But right now, she just needs a little breathing room.

🙏 This is where YOU come in.

We are calling on our incredible community to help us support this family during this difficult time.

Current Needs:

• MyCiTi Bus Points (to get to work)
• Groceries (no allergies)
• Cleaning Supplies
• Toiletries
• Electricity meter number 09000494808

Every contribution, no matter how small, brings dignity, hope, and stability back into this home.

Because sometimes… all someone needs is a community that says:
“We see you. We’ve got you.”

Let’s remind this mom — and her son — that they are not alone.

Let’s turn struggle into strength.

Let’s show them what community really means. 💫

Celebrating our 4th year on Facebook. Thank you for your continuing support. WE could never have made it without you. 🙏🤗🎉

Many people drive past places like Wolwerivier and never truly see it.

But behind those roads and structures are families, children, dreams, and daily struggles most people will never understand.

This video gives a glimpse into the community we serve — a community filled with resilience, strength, and people who simply need opportunity, support, and hope.

For us at The Humanity Heal Foundation, this is not just charity work.

This is purpose.
This is service.
This is humanity.

This is why we do what we do.

It’s also why we transport 8 children every single day to and from school, because every child deserves access to education and the opportunity for a better future.

And this is why we need your help.

This is why we need help for 4 days this week to transport the children.

Take a moment to watch the video and learn more about Wolwerivier and the incredible people who live there. ❤️
