LEADERS OF CHANGE FELLOWS PROGRAMME

Graduation Celebration: Honouring a Journey of Leadership and Transformation

On 15 May 2026, the Leaders of Change Fellows Programme proudly celebrated the graduation of its fellows at Pebetse Guest House. The event marked the successful completion of a transformative journey that began on 25 July 2025, bringing together young leaders committed to advancing gender equality and social justice within their communities.

The graduation ceremony was a vibrant celebration filled with joy, reflection, and recognition. Fellows, facilitators, partners, and guests gathered to honour the dedication and perseverance demonstrated throughout the programme.

Throughout the programme, fellows deepened their understanding of gender equality, leadership, advocacy, and the prevention of Gender-Based Violence. Equipped with new skills and strengthened networks, graduates are now better positioned to become agents of change and champions for equality in their communities.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Soul City Institute for their invaluable support and partnership throughout the implementation of the Leaders of Change Fellows Programme. Their commitment to youth empowerment and gender equality has played a significant role in making this initiative a success.

"Leadership is not about a position or title; it is about creating positive change and inspiring others to do the same."

It was truly an honor for our leaders of change fellows to engage with Mrs Mawela, the Founder of Nhlengelo Home-Based Care, whose unwavering dedication continues to make a profound impact in the community. With a deep passion for protecting and uplifting children, she has worked tirelessly to ensure that no child suffers from injustice, neglect, or abuse.

Her commitment goes beyond basic care—she provides a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where vulnerable children can heal, grow, and regain a sense of hope. Through her leadership, Nhlengelo Home-Based Care has become a pillar of strength for many families, offering not only essential services but also emotional support and guidance.

Her love for children is evident in every initiative she leads, and her work has transformed countless young lives, giving them the opportunity to dream again and build a brighter future. She continues to inspire those around her through her resilience, compassion, and unwavering belief that every child deserves protection, dignity, and a chance to thrive.
