💜 A small beginning with the potential for a big impact.

Last week, we delivered the first order of Komani reusable pad packs for the matric girls at a school in Middelburg on behalf of one of our newest client https://xpertplant.co.za/

What makes this even more special is that the funding was raised by the client with the support of their own clients and suppliers – proving that when people come together, real change happens.

✨ The matric cohort will receive their packs this week.
✨ There are still 530 learners at the school who need support.

Could you help us reach them?

We're inviting individuals, businesses and organisations to help us extend this initiative to the rest of the learners. Every contribution helps provide girls with a sustainable menstrual health solution that supports their education, confidence, and dignity.

📞 To find out how you can get involved, please e-mail [email protected]

Together, we can ensure that more girls have access to a sustainable menstrual health solution. 💜

On Tuesday, our brand ambassadors experienced a true full-circle moment. ✨

Once, they sat in this very hall as young girls, listening to women teach them about wellness, dignity, and caring for their bodies. This week, they stood before the next generation, sharing those same lessons and inspiring the girls who now sit where they once did.

Thank you, Simonsberg Primary, for the incredible welcome, your warmth, kindness, and the love, discipline, and guidance you pour into your girls every day. It was an honour to be back.

Thank you to our returning anonymous sponsor for making this day possible!

Simonsberg Primary, forever in our hearts.

*Got R20 to spare? Buy a copy of the Cape Times today.* 🗞️🩸

This is a campaign you need to experience for yourself.

It’s designed to make you uncomfortable - because the reality of period poverty is uncomfortable.

As the story seeps through the pages, it challenges the way we see a struggle that millions of girls and women face every month.

Proud to see Komani sharing the front page. 💜

Looks like our feature decided to arrive fashionably late… much like a period sometimes does. 😉💚

While Komani was originally set for the front page today for MHDay2026, a minor publishing glitch had other plans. But at Komani, we know that life and the challenges girls face don’t always follow a perfect schedule. Resilience is part of our DNA.

The good news?
We will now officially feature on 1 June. We’re taking this extra time to amplify our message even further, because while a feature can be late, a girl’s education shouldn't have to wait.

*To our partners: This delay is a small reminder of the unpredictable realities we navigate to deliver sustainable impact. Every Komani pack provides 3 years of dignity, ensuring that no matter what 'glitches' life throws, a girl’s potential remains uninterrupted.
**To our community: Thank you for your patience and for standing with us. The mission remains the same: dignity, confidence and education for every girl.

Stay tuned for June 1st as we take the front page and continue creating a . 💚

As we commemorate Africa Day, we reflect on former President Thabo Mbeki’s recent powerful message: despite decades of progress, deeply entrenched poverty remains our continent's greatest hurdle. He rightly pointed out that true development must be measured by how it radically changes the lives of ordinary people.

One of the most hidden yet devastating impacts of this poverty is period poverty.

Did you know that in South Africa, over 7 million women and girls cannot afford basic sanitary products? The consequences are severe. Many are forced to use unhygienic alternatives, and heartbreakingly, many schoolgirls miss up to a week of school every month. This absenteeism compounds over time, leading to higher dropout rates and unrealised dreams.

If we are to heed Mbeki's call to eradicate poverty and build a self-reliant Africa, we must ensure our girls are not held back by their biology. Educating girls is a proven driver of economic growth and resilience.

Komani is on the frontlines of this fight. We manufacture and distribute reusable, eco-friendly sanitary pads and provide crucial menstrual health education. A single Komani pack gives a girl three years of menstrual freedom and keeps her in the classroom where she belongs.

We need your support to break this cycle. Whether you are an individual wanting to sponsor a period pack, or a corporate looking for a meaningful CSR partnership, you can make a tangible difference.

As we say at Komani: "Pads will not change the world, the women who wear them will." Let's ensure periods don't pause education or potential.
