While we celebrate Transport Month,we also recognise October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 🎀

At MTWU, we believe in educating, empowering and protecting our female members and their families. Breast cancer can affect anyone, and early detection can save lives.

🎀 Know your body.
🎀 Know the signs and symptoms.
🎀 Do regular self-examinations.
🎀 Go for recommended screenings.
🎀 Speak to a healthcare professional if you notice any changes.

This month, let’s spread awareness and encourage one another to prioritise our health.

INDUSTRY TUESDAY | TRANSPORT IS MORE THAN TRUCKS

When we think about transport, we often think about the truck on the road.

But the transport industry is much bigger than that.

Behind every successful delivery is a network of workers and services working together:

🚛 Truck drivers — moving goods across the country.
🤝🏾 Truck assistants — supporting drivers and deliveries.
🔧 Mechanics & technicians— keeping vehicles safe and operational.
📦 Warehouse workers — receiving, storing and preparing goods.
📋 Dispatchers— coordinating loads, routes and deliveries.
🚚 Logistics workers — making sure goods move efficiently from one point to another.
👷🏾Other transport workers — each playing an important role in keeping the industry moving.

From the farm to the warehouse, from the warehouse to the supermarket, and ultimately to the consumer therefore transport connects the entire supply chain.

That is why transport is not simply about moving trucks.

TRANSPORT IS ABOUT MOVING THE ECONOMY. 🇿🇦

This Transport Month, MTWU recognises every worker behind the movement.
