💜🖤Empowering Our Elders Against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide!!!💜🖤

The Vosloorus Parliamentary Constituency Office hosted a special event on December 9th, 2025 to educate and empower our elderly citizens on the critical issue of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF). 💜

This program, themed "Purple & Black - Standing Together Against GBVF" 💜🖤, is dedicated to our senior community members. The goal is to provide them with knowledge that GBVF is not only a physical threat, but also has profound psychological and emotional impacts on families and communities.

Together, participants will learn practical ways to identify, address, and help curb violence in order to build safer, healthier neighborhoods. This important initiative aims to equip our elders with the tools and resources they need to become advocates and agents of positive change.💜

Let us all be united to confront this national disaster and stand united against gender-based violence. Let's empower our seniors and create a future where all can live free from fear.🖤

🌸💜Honoring Lives and Advocating for Change!!💜🌸

We had the profound honor of attending the funeral of a beloved grandmother Daphne Mbolekwa's funeral. We are deeply grateful to the family for inviting us to share in their grief and to stand in solidarity with them during this heartbreaking time.

As we reflect on this tragedy, we are reminded of the urgent need to address and eradicate Gender-Based Violence and Femicide in our society. The pain of losing a loved one to such violence is immeasurable, and it reinforces our commitment to advocating for change.

During these 16 Days of Activism, let us unite our voices and efforts to raise awareness and foster a culture of respect and safety for all individuals. Together, we can work towards a future where no family has to endure the loss of a loved one due to violence.

Thank you to the family for allowing us to support them and for encouraging us to continue this vital conversation.

We are so thankful and happy as we think about our successful walk from Vosloorus to Cape Town to raise awareness against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide. Our message has reached many people, and we are united in stopping these terrible acts.

But this is just the start! We still need your support as we move forward. A big thank you to all our GBVF partners and supporters who helped us on this journey. Your prayers, blessings, and donations helped make our walk successful and trouble-free.

We Made It to Cape Town!!!💜✨❤️

After an incredible 23-day journey, we've finally arrived in Cape Town!! After covering 60 km each day, walking from Vosloorus to Cape Town raising an awareness about Gender-Based Violence and Femicide, spreading our message from town to town.

It wasn’t an easy journey, but our determination kept us going. We’re thrilled to have reached our destination safely and to have handed over the Pledge to Luvuyo Shasha, the Representative of Parliament in the Department of Social Development.

A huge shoutout to 1000women1voice for their unwavering support and for amplifying our message about the urgent national crisis of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide.

Thank you to everyone in the towns we passed through and to all the stakeholders who stood by us. Your encouragement means the world to us! ❤️ Together, we can make a difference!

🌟 Journey Update: From Vosloorus to Cape Town!🌟

Our adventure continues, and we’re thrilled to be nearing the finish line!

Today, we walked from Worcester to Paarl, and what a journey it has been! Walking through the tunnel was a highlight, and we were warmly welcomed at the police station, where they generously offered us a place to rest. A heartfelt thank you to them for their incredible support!

We also want to extend our gratitude to KC FM for featuring us in a radio interview, allowing us to share our message about the urgent issues of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide.

A huge shoutout to everyone supporting our initiative we couldn’t do it without you! 💪❤️ Let’s keep pushing forward together!

Today, we embarked on an inspiring journey from Laingsburg to Touwsriver, making strides in our campaign to raise awareness against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide.

Upon reaching Touwsriver, we headed straight to the local police station, where we received a warm welcome and a cozy place to rest up for tomorrow's activities. A huge thank you to the Captain and her incredible team for their support!

Together, we’re pushing forward for a brighter, safer future! 💪💜

🌍Walking for Change: From Vosloorus to Cape Town!! 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️

Today, we took another powerful step in our journey, walking from Leeu Gamka to Laingsburg , raising our voices against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide.💜

We arrived at the Laingsburg Police Station, where we’ll be spending the night, thanks to the generosity of the Laingsburg SAPS for providing us with their Victim Friendly Room. 🙏 However, we still need your support!

We just wrapped up an impactful activation in the heart of Leeu Gamka, Western Cape, where we had the privilege of addressing the critical issue of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide. The community was all ears as we shared important insights on how to tackle these pressing concerns and who to reach out to for help when needed.

Together, we explored the far-reaching effects of Gender-Based Violence and discussed actionable solutions. The response was incredible, and it’s clear that our message resonated deeply with everyone present.

A huge shoutout to the Social Crime Prevention Officer of Leeu Gamka for their invaluable support in making this meeting a resounding success! Let’s keep the conversation going and continue to empower our community! 💪💜

Yesterday, we had an impactful visit to the Beaufort West Police Station in the Western Cape. We engaged in a meaningful discussion about our walk from Vosloorus to Cape Town, raising awareness against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide.

🎤 We also had the opportunity to share our message during a radio interview with Phalaphala FM, spreading the word about our mission and the importance of this cause.

Today, we continued our journey, walking from Beaufort West to Leeu Gamka. The support we've received has been incredible, but we still need your help! 🙏
