🧠💙 As we celebrate Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, Banna Buang stands firm in our mission to uplift, protect, and support men in our communities.

We recognize that too many men suffer in silence—battling depression, anxiety, trauma, and the pressures of society without the space or support to speak out.

As Banna Buang, our roles during this important month and beyond are:

🔹 Breaking the silence: We create safe spaces for men to open up, be vulnerable, and receive emotional support without fear of judgment.

🔹 Education & Awareness: We lead campaigns that challenge stigma and raise awareness about men’s mental health issues—because healing begins with knowledge.

🔹 Encouragement & Empowerment: We remind every man that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. We walk with them towards wellness.

🔹 Advocacy: We engage government, faith leaders, and communities to prioritize men’s mental health in policies and programs.

🔹 Support for Victims: Many men carry deep wounds from violence, poverty, and trauma. We advocate for their healing and offer support through counseling, referrals, and active care.

đź’¬ "Men feel too. Men cry too. Men break too. And men heal too."

Let’s build a generation of emotionally strong, supported, and mentally healthy men.

We are Banna Buang. We are here to stand, support, and save lives.

🕊️ One of our core objectives is to bring peace and security to families in need.

Yesterday, 07 June 2025 , we are deeply grateful for the donation support we received to assist a family in Botshabelo whose shack was tragically destroyed by fire. 💔🔥

Your kindness and generosity have brought hope where there was despair, and comfort where there was loss. Together, we’re not just responding to tragedy—we're rebuilding lives, restoring dignity, and standing for humanity. 🤝🏽

Thank you, South Africa. Let’s continue to be the light for one another.

It is truly a sad and heartbreaking day in Matatiele once again. Another life, another daughter taken from us too soon — brutally killed, allegedly by someone who once claimed to love her. How many more?

We are shaken, but not silent.
This time, we must return to Matatiele, not just with our voices, but with our full team — activists, investigators, and community builders. We are coming back with awareness tools, support systems, and purpose.

To the Khawuleza family, we hold you in our hearts. Your pain is not yours alone — it is ours too.
To Matatiele Municipality, we thank you. You are not folding your arms. You are pushing hard, taking a stand, walking with the people in real time. Leadership like this must be echoed across the country.

GBV is not just a problem. It's a war. And we refuse to be silent soldiers.

Headline: "Ben-10 Culture Must Fall – It’s R**e Against Our Boys"

On the 4th of May, Banna Buang Free State Men’s Forum was officially invited by the Office of the Premier to participate in the “Justice for Women, End GBVF” event held in Smithfield, Free State. Despite the physical exhaustion from their long and demanding awareness walk from Bloemfontein to Matatiele, activists Nicolase Lesapo and Archie Phinithi made the effort to attend and contribute to the important conversation around Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF).

In his speech, Archie Phinithi commended the Eastern Cape Government, particularly Matatiele Municipality and the SAPS, for the exceptional support and protection they provided during their walk. “The Eastern Cape government showed leadership. They didn’t wait to be begged—they responded and acted. I hope the Free State government will follow this example and support activists fighting for justice,” he said.

Phinithi also issued a strong warning to perpetrators hiding behind culture and faith. “Traditional doctors and fake pastors who exploit women under the guise of spiritual healing—bathing them, touching them—must stop. It is abuse, not healing,” he emphasized.

He further made a bold call-out to older women who pursue young boys (commonly referred to as “Ben-10s”), calling it what it truly is—statutory r**e.

> “If we call out men who prey on young girls, we must also call out women who do the same to our boys. This Ben-10 culture must fall—it’s r**e, and we need to protect our sons too.”

The forum reiterated that their walk for justice is not for fame or recognition but a strategic and personal sacrifice to bring lasting awareness and accountability in cases of GBV and Femicide.
