In all the events that the organisation hosts our stakeholders are normally the
general public and stakeholder that takes or has interest in donating or funding the
organisation to help the needy. This particular event was to give back to the
community that is in need, and we had invited the local municipality, local contractor
and the ward councillor M. Masangane and T. Mashinini to be part of this event to
handout sanitary towels, toiletries and clothes.
This was a very heartfelt experience for those of us who were present at this event,
as we were handing out the donations to affected public, one of the mothers spoke
bravely and left us in tears by saying “it is one thing to be poor but it is another thing
to accept the situation by allowing people that have the means to assist rather than
turning to crime. This is no life that an individual can wish for themselves, but we are
grateful that the Lord has sent a helping hand. To me this is an answered prayer
because I did not know how we are going to survive the winter because my kids do
not have sufficient clothes but today, I am wiping away my tears because of this
organisation.” Though we were deeply touched, and no one had anything else to say
in this regard, this was also a reflection that people are really struggling to survive in
this economy and left us seeing that these people are the richest because they are
rich by heart, they could be crying about so much more but with one answered
prayer they find the courage to wipe away their tears.
Thankfully, this was such a successful, touching event that the local municipality has
taken course to assist the organisation whenever they are hosting events of this
nature to see to it that they reach out to needy. We still hope to share this experience
with other stakeholders so that we can grow and help more people.
